Re: Adam, Native of Iowa, is a Student of more than the Game
Well the problem is going away in a few weeks....
I guess we better send Alex Thompsen off to Kansas.

Re: Adam, Native of Iowa, is a Student of more than the Game
Ehhhh......Let it go, he made a decision, whether it was his own or not is irrelevent. The move seems to have worked out for him, so good for him. I have heard that he is a pretty good guy, and he received a tremendous honor. Yeah his hair is bad, but he might be a big Matchbox 20 fan.
Good luck to him, he has gotten better, and there aren't many players that have played for Steve Alford that can say that. Their season is almost over too, and then we can get ready for the football onslaught of how great they are, and how bad we suck, I can hardly wait.

Some of you have a very unhealthy complex towards Iowa. Seek help.

No, I just don't believe that he would add all that much to the team we had last year. Remember he was either going to take minutes from RC or Stinson, so I don't really see where he fits in last year's team.
He left us high and dry by going to Iowa and could give to shts what we are doing so we should return the faver. Don't post this crap here, leave it for the squawk boards. That said... good for him...(all sarcasm) Then we'll have to agree to disagree. We were a three point threat away from being a pretty damn good team. I know Stinson was a a bit of a ball hog, but if you look at the early season games, he tried passing the ball off, especially to the post players. They didn't deliver then, and he gave up passing to them.
I'm a little surprised that you think Morgan wouldn't have sacrificed playing time for Clark, maybe even Stinson, if he could get the consistent 3-point threat we desperately needed. You sort of contradict yourself, also. You insinuate he wouldn't get playing time over Clark or Stinson, but go on to say he left us high and dry....
Of course, my opinion is irrelevant, which is why I'm typing on a message board and not coaching.....

Re: Adam, Native of Iowa, is a Student of more than the Game
You people that "hate" someone for leaving need to let it go. Are you all going to hate on Alex Thompson for doing the same exact thing in reverse? His dad even said he would stay at Iowa and then about a week later the announcement came out he wanted to leave. No big deal either way. These guys get to make their own decisions for what is in their best interests.

However, knowing the real reason that he transferred has made me very bitter about it, especially with where he went.

Re: Adam, Native of Iowa, is a Student of more than the Game
The guy went to isu BECAUSE of LE. He left BECAUSE of LE. This happens all over the country. I wouldn't have stayed at isu if I had a hack of a coach like Morgan. His friends went to Iowa. It was still close to home and to his girlfriend. The guy was a 18 yr old kid at the time. Give him a break. He is a very good bball player and WM would still be coach if he was on the team than. It worked out good in the long run. Personally he is my favorite iowa player of all time. The guy plays hard and doesn't ***** like Horner used to. Plus he is 2 times the player Horner ever wished to be

His AAU coach pitched a fit and said that Morgan "would be sorry" when he got Adam to transfer. Then he got in Mr. Haluska's ear and basically made it happen. I really don't hate Adam for it because he was in a rough spot at the time, but on the other hand I hope he sucks it up on the court every time he goes out there because he plays for our rival and he turned his back on ISU.

Over/under on the number of years some Cyclone fans will continue to obsess over Adam...with the line being 5 years.
I'm sadly taking the over...

And Alford would probably have been fired without Haluska on his team. We sacraficed a good player to get a better coach than Morgan and keep Alford coaching at Iowa for years to come. We're talking win/win here.

Sounds like Morgan dropped the ball here, so maybe you should be angry at the source of the problem. Personally I think Haluska knew then what it took us 3 years to discover: Morgan was not head coaching material.

Re: Adam, Native of Iowa, is a Student of more than the Game
Deep breath. Now, everyone, please drop this topic. Let it go. It is ancient history not to mention we have a guy that transfer from Iowa but no seems to mind. Just let it go.
I'm not going to congratulate Adam but I'm not going to hate on him either.
AT could be one of our best players next year (if he is developing as I've heard). Does his transfer make him a traitor? There appears to be a double standard and it was acknowledged in another thread.
Let it go.

Re: Adam, Native of Iowa, is a Student of more than the Game
I think he's such a big deal, because for most people once you are a Cyclone, you are a Cyclone forever...the hawks can never brag to have that kinda fans/players/etc...I mean, look at the thread on the source of hatred for the hawks...TONS of people started as hawk fans, as I kinda did here in eastern iowa, cuz they would make you believe that iowa is the only school/team in the entire area...but then the people later became Cyclone fans, and I know I will never have another favorite team the rest of my life. Cyclone are a lot more close knit, no matter how big their fanbase gets. iowa has their diehards, but they have a ton more fans who come and go and since iowa's athletics have been slipping a lot lately, they seem to be going...
I think this is why people have so much hatred for a guy who goes the weird route of Cyclone to hawkeye, bcuz its usually the other way around...
I am with CyinCo that I am not gonna congratulate him and I am not gonna hate on him either...he doesn't really concern me anymore...I don't hate him, I just hate the team he plays for.

Re: Adam, Native of Iowa, is a Student of more than the Game
So are any of you "Adam Haluska is an awesome guy and should win the Nobel Peace Prize" guys gonna go to his victory party tonight? You'd probably rather be there than at our game wouldn't you?? I mean we're all just Iowans anyway and any publicity nationally for any school in Iowa is good for all of us. Anyone happen to see the classic drive to the free throw line, jump into the guy standing there with his arms straight up, and get the foul call today?? I mean you could tell that since Adam's such a great guy that he really didn't mean to charge into the guy as hard as he did but still, great play. (barf face)
