USA TODAY POOR COVERAGE OF ISU BB
ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THIS LACK OF COVERAGE IN THE PAST BY USA TODAY?
Sent this inquiry to USATODAY today and have copied my question below for your info. I have noticed frequently, in the past, when we have beaten a team, we get no box score coverage in the next days USATODAY newspaper sports. I think I know the answer, but I wanted to hear their official explanation. Maybe I am looking for a boogeyman behind a tree, but my recollection is that the local reporter that feeds sports info to USATODAY is an IOWA fan. A reasonable explanation of the continual non-coverage of even the box score is needed as I believe this repetitive omission is deliberate.
My question relates to absolutely no coverage of any kind of IOWA STATE basketball scores. The basic coverage I would expect, is to at least give the final score of the game under that days basketball news, listed under the section FOR THE RECORD as other teams coverage of their score shows up.. My point being Iowa State played and beat Nebraska on 2/28 and yet no score was listed in the Thursday, 3/1 edition. If you had the Texas/A&M score listed on 3/1 edition, where was the ISU/Nebraska score? If you could report an 8 PM game start final score for Texas/AM, why couldn't you report a 7 PM game start final score for the ISU/Nebraska game. This is not the first time I have noticed that you don't report ISU games scores, even when they start at 7 PM and yet you manage to report the score of other Midwest games also starting at 7 PM, like a Mizzu or Kansas game. What gives?
Anyone else ever notice this? I haven't researched this in depth but have kept a running lookout for this in last 1-2 yrs and finally sent an email to them.

This will be irrelevant within the next few years as we move up in the conference's pecking order

I say we freaking boycott the USA Today until justice is served. That'll show 'em when all 5 Cyclone fan/subscribers cancel on them!

Can almost certainly say I have never picked up a USA today paper. I have been to their website a time or two though.

Re: USA TODAY POOR COVERAGE OF ISU BB
Quite simple really, and this ought to get the conspiracy theories rolling...
USA Today is owned and operated by Gannett Co.
The very same company that owns and operates the DM Rag.
See, having a journalism degree from ISU pays off dividends - I know which companies own which newspapers! Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -

I honestly love the USA today paper....while they don't give us much love, I really like what they have to offer. You just gotta remember they are trying to cover the nation. Yes, they make mistakes, but hopefully our team will be something to talk about in the future!

Hmmm... Sounds Like the Evil hawk Mass Media is up to it again "Day after day, situation after situation you do things the right way. If you do things the right way, in life, you are going to be successful. I'm not just your football coach; I'm not just here to win games. I could not be prouder of who we are and who we are becoming, together. You do things right in the classroom, off and on the field; that's whats's makes us Cyclones and that's what our culture's all about."
