Re: Cowboys Fans
The Cowboys just signed Brad Johnson. Better hope Romo doesn't get hurt.

Re: Cowboys Fans
Adam Schein of sirius radio is reporting Colombo to the Jets.
Awful news.

Re: Cowboys Fans
Ick...Brad Johnson. Yeah...he's got a title - on his team's defense. I just never cared for the guy. Harrington was bad in Detroit - so are most players up there. I liked what I saw out of him in Miami though - he made some significant improvements.
As far as Phillips, to me Wade Phillips = Brian Kelly.
Phillips doesn't excite me yet will likely be a good coach. Originally Posted by mwitt Adam Schein of sirius radio is reporting Colombo to the Jets.
Awful news. This is completely untrue. He hasn't even visited a team yet.

Re: Cowboys Fans
Not even that, projections still are he'll be in Dallas.

And it was a projection by that individual. So yes, it was still a projection.

Re: Cowboys Fans
Wasn't Brad Johnson the oldest starting QB in the league last year (maybe even oldest overall??)
They need to work a trade to bring in Sage!
And Wade Phillips does not impress me, if a guy has already failed 2x, what in the world would make us think that he is suddenly going to be a winner here?
-
Re: Cowboys Fans
Wade has a winning NFL head coaching record. Norv didn't and neither did any of the other candidates that Jerry interviewed - from what I understand.

He went 11-5 in Buffalo, and they haven't made the playoffs since he left. He had the number one defense in the NFL in Buffalo, and it hasn't been very good since. If he goes 11-5 in Dallas, and this is a more talented team than what he had up in the Northeast, then he'll already have accomplished more than Parcells did.
Bill Belichick failed before, too.

Bill Belichick failed before, too. Let the spinning commence. Wade Phillips was not the hire the Cowboys wanted - he was who they settled for.
He also went 8-8 in Buffalo if we're just picking years out.

Telll me -- what was the hire that they wanted? Jerry wanted a guy who would run the 3-4 (Phillips is the best in the business at that) and wanted Jason Garrett to be able to take over in a few years.

Re: Cowboys Fans
This is what I like to see.
"According to several rumors circulating around the Internet Monday evening, the Dallas Cowboys could be losing tackle Marc Colombo to the New York Jets.
However, TheRanchReport.com has learned those rumors are indeed, false.
While Colombo does appear to be testing the waters of free agency, he has yet to visit another team.
In addition, the Cowboys are hoping to re-sign him to a multi-year deal. With the recent addition of Leonard Davis, Dallas would like Colombo to return at right tackle, which would allow Davis to play right guard should current starter Marco Rivera retire.
While the New York Jets have been rumored to be a team interested in Colombo's services, TheRanchReport.com believes as of Monday evening that Colombo has not agreed to terms with the Jets organziation.
In fact, TheRanchReport.com has maintained for the last week the Cowboys would likely be able to re-sign Colombo after free agency started."

Don't confuse hope for a plan. -

I'm sure there's a lot of San Diego and Oakland fans that are that are doing the same thing.
