In coming U of I freshman football players received their numbers!!!! Thank god for the Des Moines Register is here to report what inquiring minds want to know. I CANT BELIEVE Ryan Donahue picked # 5, those are some big shoes to fill, especially after Tate wins the Heisman!!! And what does everyone think ofJames Clevelands # 89? Thoughts? How will their numbers affect the Hawgeyes season? I think this will give them the extra boost to go 13-0! i was thinking 12-1, but with these numbers being released, whew... watch out!!! I can talk about this for days.
sarcasm is fun!

i cant believe i missed that article!!!! Are you serious when you say Donahue picked #5? Get out of town. I really hoped he would go for #6. He probably would have been best suited with #8 but we'll never know. I'm REALLY glad you said something ripvdub, cause i would have missed out on this piece of information all together. Now I truley believe thay are one step closer to the National Championship!!!

Wow....this is really big news for the Hawks....and leave it to the DM Register to be the first to break it. Im sure in the next few hours we will see Kirk Herbstret on ESPN reporting this.....Breaking News from Iowa, The Des Moines Register is reporting that The Iowa football team has updated its roster, adding the jersey numbers for 18 inoming players. We now go to Iowa City where new Athletic Director Gary Barta and Iowa Football coach Kirk Ferentz are holding a special news conference........

I'm suprised they cracked the case at the College Football Hall of Fame to pilfer Tate's jersey for the freshman...

Donahue picked #5....Damn, I was hoping Arvell Nelson would pick #5 and now look what happened...he get's #8!!! You have got to be joking. And Derrick Smith taking #32 is a flat out joke, no way is he deserving of that. But my sleeper is Lance Tillison geting #18...that is a steal at twice the price, look for him to do great things with #18.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot...Our "#1" paper in Iowa, the great untouchable Des Moines Register, chooses to have their headline story be about Lance Armstrong and why he is ridiculous for liking Coconut Cream Pie. Maybe they should have written about how Nancy Clark has eaten a few too many coconut cream pies...
What a joke of a newspaper...

Good to see I'm not missing anything while I'm down here in Miami

Hey! back off Nancy.....she's more woman then you could ever handle! we discuss future Register stories over bottles of red wine and buttered biscuits in the hot tub....

Did you notice how the register wouldn't put who wrote the article/got the information? They know they have nothing better to write about. Why don't they do some reports on the summer basketball leagues, or on how much Iowa fans suck.

I just called my grandmother and told her the news... she's been very ill recently the doctors said she didn't have much time left. And she told me the only thing she wanted before she dies is to know the new Hawk jersey numbers. We didn't think she was going to be able to make it, but thanks to the quick reporting of the DMReg she was able to die peacefully this afternoon.

This is my sarcasm pirate. There are many like it but this one is mine. -

There is no way they could write about how much Iowa fans suck. There are only so many pages to the paper, and the delivery boys would go on strike because the paper would weight too much.

I think the biggest surprise of the day was Bryon Gattas at #41. I'm so proud of him for picking that number! Hes on his way. I'll go out on a limb and say that will be his number all four years. He definately made the right choice on that one.
And also, dont forget about Karl Klug at 95. I have him as my sleeper.
