Geez guys, I mean I am no Alford fan because of his position, and I don't think he's a very good coach. However, I'm not going to pile on him for talking about his faith even though RUMORS are out there about him. Even if it was true about him being unfaithful to his wife, a doctor doesn't perform open heart surgery on a guy in perfect health, it's the guy with heart problems that needs it. Let he without sin cast the first stone. I guess to me that means I can still call him Eddie Munster, but I'm going to hold back when it comes to speculating on whats going on in his personal life or his heart.
“I’m just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard,” Eustachy joked. “If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, he’ll be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.”
I am just wondering what would happen if a coach went undefeated and won a nat'l championship and said that a big reason for his or her success was Satan.
I am guessing that the mistakes that are being referred to have to do with more than just basketball. A man of faith should not be required to hide his convictions, whether others agree with them or not. Alford, or anyone who chooses to be outspoken in his beliefs in God, does not harm anyone, and will certainly help some. It is up to each individual whether they choose to receive the message.

Maybe Bill Self can give a shout out this year?

That's one of the great things that makes Alford so unlikeable, his hypocrisy. His spouting off of his faith, and then something like his complete insensitivity related to a rape charge by one of his players.
The rumors out there may or may not also be true, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt... that they are true. Rumors about coaches that are/were true is a long list.
