"Classy young man." Right. Just because he's the only one on your team not to be arrested doesn't mean that he's classy. It means that he just hasn't been caught yet.

"...want to give thanks to God; without him today would not be possible" when you know that the athlete's lifestyle is ANYTHING but a reflection of God.
I'm not ripping on the TRUE Christian athletes (I'm a Christian myself), I just hate the absolute "give glory to God" for 30 seconds during the interview and then not having the lifestyle to back it up.

Plus, I'd hate to think that God is actually going to determine the outcome of a football game. If that was the case then we must have really made him mad last year.

The Quotation or Phrase I absolutely do not understand is..... "We knew we all had to step it up"
In sports are you not suppose to give your all, all the time, If you could step it up...Why didn't you..? Have you been playing at 1/2 speed til the circumstances said lets play harder..? Play hard try and win all the time.

Mine would have to be message boards cliches involving rivals. The Cyclones are always the clowns from an Iowa point of view. Cyclones call the Hawkeyes the squawks.
Come on, aren't we mature enought to acknowledge the other school by their chosen name? I often question the maturity of the posters who use those tired attempts at belittling the other team.
Belittle the Hawks the way you should. Point out the countless flaws of their players, coaches, and fans.

Anytime I hear "Diaper Dandy", "PTP (Prime Time Player)" or "Super Scintillating Sensational" I automatically shut the game off and watch women's bowling on ESPN Classic. Can't stand Dickie V

A local sports radio show is Charlotte, NC (where i used to live) had a segment everyday called "Count the Cliches." They would play a sound bite from an athlete/coach interview and before hand they would give a guess to how many cliches would be uttered. Usually the over under was around 8. It was usually pretty funny stuff.
For the record I dispise when a crowed chants "over rated!" after they are about to beat a highly ranked opponent. You are just dissing your own team!!!
