Spring Sing Time!!!

Ahhh, there may be no finer American institution than the annual elementary "Spring Sing". As a proud teacher, I cannot wait to kill 4 hours after school for the performance to begin this evening. My heart will leap to my throat as 54 musical recorders rise as one, and flawlessly perform the ageless "Hot Crossed Buns". They will make you laugh and cry at the same time as the 54 sopranoes sing "Rockin' Robin", while 30 boys try to act like they could care less, and the 24 girls pour their hearts out bursting into song! Yes, tonight will be a good night...a night to remember...Spring Sing, followed by "Spring Drink and Purge" 2007
(to be sung like a jubilant 4th grader)
"Blow rockin' robin
'Cause we're really gonna rock tonight
Yeah yeah"

“I’m just glad I have Homan as my bodyguard,” Eustachy joked. “If I ever make it real big and get to drive a limo everyday, he’ll be driving it. I thought he came off the bench like somebody was stealing his cow or something.”

Is this a local thing, because I've never heard of the "Spring Sing"?

Re: Spring Sing Time!!!

Every small town in Iowa has a bunch of youngs songbirds who belt out some of the most amazing springtime dittys. Back at home ours always used to be on the Monday night of the NCAA title game, meaning my mom forced me and my father to attend, but with pregeames we only missed the first five minutes, ah good times, but I am still mad about not being one of the beatles during the first grade spring sing! I'll get over it!

A coincidence that every small town in Iowa also has a local watering hole?? I think not! 35 minutes til showtime baby! (Starts jumping around all crazy like and yelling "what time is it?" and answering himself "Sing time...uhhhh!" ala Horace Grant and the Unbeat-a-Bulls)

The Spring Sing is a required music vocal concert for most elementary kids in Iowa...just an FYI for those of you who don't know.

Spanny - if you ever call Snow "mediocre" again I will make YOU Jump Jump.

Wonka, tigershoops, htown, all the billy sunday boys past and present, I give to you Tricky, cyclone fanatic style, to the tune of tricky by rundmc, a must if I were in control of an elementary music program, along with like three meatloaf songs, but back to the freestylings of billysunday

This speech is my recital i think its very vital
To write a post that doesn't suck
I said it's not that easy

It's not tricky to love the clones to love the clones
I said it is so easy

I love these big bad cyclones I watch their every ball game

It is so easy to love the clones to love the clones
I said it is so easy

In Iowa we talk and we all love the Clones
Get on the boards to pump our guys we know were not alone!
And in this state it is a pity cause our boys we can't hide
The red and gold look o so good as our rankings will climb
Our new uni's and great staff will get us to the top
and with this board our cyclone love will never stop

It's not tricky to love the clones to love the clones
It's so easy to love the clones to love the clones
I said it is so easy

Our goals are big they are to win and to be the best
Our red and gold men and women will pass the test
on the board will keep on talkin struttin our stuff
Cyclones will back us on the field they are so tough

It's not tricky to love the clones to love the clones
It's easy to love the clones to love the clones
