Rahshon Clark

Did anyone else think that play where Rahshon got from the wing all the way to the rim in a split second for the dunk was the best move he has ever done as a Cyclone?! I'm not talking just dunk or a play where Blalock or someone else set him up because then of course everyone would say the dunk against Virginia. I really thought this is what we would be seeing of Clark this year, maybe its a sign of things to come next year

Re: Rahshon Clark

he has unbelievable hops, but people seem to only talk about a crazy dunk or put back he had on offense, but he is SUCH a great defender. Remember the job he did on Durant? I would hate to have the ball in my hands and have to go one on one against him.

And to think he is just learing to play man-to-man at the college level...due to our previous style of play.

It was toward the beginning of the game.. he got by his guy in less than a second and had a dunk to finish it!

It was a very sweet move. It'll be on SportsCenter for sure. A swift move down the baseline from about the 3 point line and a nice one-handled slam finish.

That's the Clark we know from last season.

I agree. There isn't a player on the team that plays as hard or unselfishly as Rahshon. What a quality young man to stick around after the defections, knowing full well he'd have to adjust to a new coach and new style of play. This kid plays hard, does what the coaches ask of him and wants to win more than anything else. He's the last kid you would ever see in the police blotter of The Daily and I just love his attitude. Here's to hoping Rahshon will go out a winner and contribute something special his senior season.

I only got to watch the first half becaue of class but Clark looked a lot more aggressive on offense today. A positive sign in my eyes, he has the athleticism and talent, it just seemed he never got going (confidence) this year. So hopefully next year starts better for him and everyone!!

Re: Rahshon Clark

Not only that, but he nailed a really tough double clutch shot a few plays after that. Rahshon is beginning to take smart shots and develop an offensive game. He's got the athleticism, all he needs is the poise and some improvement on his shot and he could be the real deal next season.

Agreed 9seven. I've actually seen him slowly improve on offense in the last couple games. Very good to see. Could be very powerful next year if we can expect the same and more from him.

Re: Rahshon Clark

Unfortunately, the one area of the game that I though Coach Mac messed up on coaching was not having Clark on Carter to begin the game, or at least early in the 1st half. Wesley and Jessan had some success at home on Carter, but as soon as he got going today, Clark should have been on him. Looking at the stats, Godbolt was shut down in the 1st half (when Clark was on him) and Carter in the 2nd half.

I hope people that have previously posted negatively about Clark open their eyes to the effort he is providing on D. If you look at the players he has defended - Rush, Carter, Durant, Bruce, etc - to a man their stats go down when he is on them. If there is one travesty in the All-Big 12 teams it is that Clark was not on the All-defensive team.

Check around the fifteen-minute mark in the first half. I think it was at around 13-4 or so when it happened - I was trying to listen on the radio at work.

he had 4 fouls in 17 min, Ceasar played much more, not exactly stifling defense.

Re: Rahshon Clark

Someone who has played a lot more Bball than me can shed some light here, but I think it takes a lot of experience, and timing to make those spectacular flying dunks work, and certainly a guard that sees the floor and makes pin point passes. A relationship R. Clark developed with Blaylok and Stinson before their first seasons as Cyclones. Also something we saw with Clark and W Johnson more often in the last few games. Better things are coming!

Could anyone who taped the game upload Rahshon's dunk to YouTube? I didn't see it on SportsCenter...
