Afroman - Because I Got High (j/k)
The song I think we should use...
Drowning Pool - Bodies
"...let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the ... FLOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRR!!!!!!"
Other ideas...
Garbage - Push It
Korn - Got the Life
The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
| Attempt #3
The ongoing story of the persistent attempts to get to the other side.

I just browsed through all my MP3s (about 8000) of them and I couldn't find any thing better than the suggestion for Thuderstruck.
The only other song I'm suprised that I've never heard at a sports even yet is Crush'em by Megadeath. Not sure if it's a copyright thing or what.

While Back in Black is a great song, it by no means has the power for an entrance that Thunderstruck has.

I don't think there is just one song out there that would work. There are many small parts that will work wonders, but after that it doesn't quite work.
The perfect song would be a remix of several songs into one. Now if we can just find a DJ...

Another song that is a little overused is "Zombie Nation," but it still gets me pumped as hell everytime I hear it.

I found a very good and I don't know of any teams that use it: Audiovent - The Energy. It is a great song and really gets me fired up. Anyone else heard it before? Here is the Youtube link, but some kid put it to a video of him and his friend. You get the idea: | --LOYLSON-- (Yes, I know how to spell loyal) "HOLY COW" "CUBS WIN...CUBS WIN" "Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago whaddya say...the Cubs are gonna win today."

*DING DING DING* We have a winner! This is what we need. We need a bunch of heart-pumping parts of songs mixed into one that IMO needs to lead into something like what the Undertaker in WWF wrestling used to have when he entered, which has like a loud repeating bell, and that's what would end the mix and our team would run on the field. Something that can strike fear into our opponents minds. Someone PLEASE do this! | Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans… I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care… I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it… let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

I think that we need to generally keep familiar songs (ie classics), so I for one love the Thunderstruck idea, even if it isn't THAT original. The weather theme is a big selling point. However, if we're going to use some newer stuff in a medley, I think we need some Rage. Know Your Enenmy would be a good intro, and anywhere in the last half of Bullet in the Head would rock! Those are two songs that just send me into a frenzy. Another one would be Blood by Pearl Jam, lesser known amongst theirs, but an insane rocker nonetheless.

I'll order up another shot of sin, I'm running twice as hard into the wind, I'll hitch a ride when the next one comes in, fell off the wagon again...

I say go with Lose Your Self by Eminem. I think the NBA had a commercial with part of it on it. That song will get you jacked up.

Just heard Know Your Enemy on Octane on the way into work...I like it! But I'm still leaning Thunderstruck with the thunder intro.

Then we will have an adreneline-pumping alternative to our marching band and we would have a song that would uniquely say Iowa State. I'll bet it can be done. And if it rocked, we'd be the talk of the nation! A hard rockin rendition of the traditional fight song.
Or there' that Lets Go Cyclones song that Steve Deace used to play on his KXNO show every once in awhile. Created by the players.

After the initial "THUNDER!" chant, there is no heart-pounding beat that gets the crowd hyped up. As proof of this, they played the song at a football game last year. At first, the crowd reacted well. However, as soon as the initial "THUNDER!" chant ended and the verses began, it left everyone wondering how to react.
The jockjams crap they play as the current intro is just music, no words, which makes it easier to react with clapping and cheering. I think the only way Thunderstruck would work is if they just played the "THUNDER!" chant over and over for the intro. You just can't do anything with it past that point.
I do love the thought of the entire crowd chanting "CYCLONES!" in place of "THUNDER!".
