Not really sure how Pollard is Medders' boss? Medders is an intern in the athletic department, so he really is her boss.

Not really sure how Pollard is Medders' boss? Medders is an intern in the athletic office right now.
They have made mention of it several times during the games the last few days.

Not really sure how Pollard is Medders' boss? I have a direct boss that reports to a V.P. and the V.P. reports to the President. I call them all the boss.
Geoffrey is the president, Pollard is the V.P. and Fennelly is the direct boss. When comparing this to corporate America. Jamie can be considered a boss.
Edit: or what is said above.

ISU womens team started 1-3 in regular season. There were talks about Bill F considering leaving ISU after this season. I watched the Colorado game on tv. Our girls were in tears the last 5 minutes of the game. To bounce back and be on an 8 game winning streak is incredible. I am sure that's the kind of pressure all ISU coaches feel at the moment. Iowa State has always been known for being the underdog, and I don't mind that. I do think, however, things are changing.
I guess what I am trying to say is a change has come, its all about winning now - there's no moral victories any more. I do see us winning the big 12 battle in near future, at least there's the hope. To have hope is the most important thing - the rest comes with experience. Chizik has all of that.

However, there is very little basketball tradition, all of which was started in the past 20 years. The wrestling program is coming back, but we haven't won a championship since '87. And there is no tradition in football, in fact it will be a 3-5 year process to build the program up.
Now I think that the people are in place to build a strong program from top to bottom, however it is at the beginning stages. And when you have to fight the mindset of your own fanbase, well lets just say that there are going to be some bumps in the road on the way to the athletic department that we all want.

so if anyone comes into the NCAA Tourney, and wins it not being a #1 seed, they're not really National Champions?

He means that the regular season is used only for seedings in the big 12 tournement., if you are ranked #1 and some body else wins the NCAA's then they are the national champions same applies for conference tournements.

They're saying you're not "really" conference champs (by winning the conference tourney), if you didn't win the conference during the regular season. But how many times does a team win a National Championship, without winning their regular season title or conference tourney title?
Plenty. Would you not call them National Champions?

Actually, the way I've always heard it put is the winner of the regular season it the "regular season champion" and the winner of the conference tourney is the "conference champion." Until visiting this thread, I've never heard the regular season champ as the "conference champ" and the tourney champ as the "tourney champ."

What do the trophies say? I believe the trophy for the regular season winner says Big 12 Conference Champions, and the trophy for the tournament says Big 12 Conference Tournament Champions.
In football, each division gets a Big 12 North (or South) Division Champions trophy based on the regular season, but the actual conference champ is determined by the championship game. That trophy reads Big 12 Conference Champions.
