    Re: ISUs QB position

with Wallace Franklin's speed at the other side in a spread 3wr set and moses/hamilton in the slot teams won't be able to double cover or bracket Blythe this year... Bombs away

Yeah but a predictable play-calling coach is the worst for a team, and when everyone in the stadium and everyone watching on TV knows that on every 3rd and long, Meyer drops back 5 steps, looks once, and then tucks and runs, it's not a good thing

I wouldn't be surprised if we pass 30+ times a game. With depth at the WR position, and a young (young to ISU and Chizik), I could see us looking like TexTech... However, I do wish for balance eventually

I see it being more like Texas, pretty even spread between run and pass.

id like to see chizik and company turn bret into a Vince Young type for this year.. compose him to pass on the run.. I love a running QB, especially like Seneca... Seneca lit up the whole stadium... But if anyone remembers,, when Meyer hit Blythe for a TD one game, the lights went out briefly right when he caught the ball.. it was sweet

I'd like Bret to play like Vince Young for his senior year.

    Re: ISUs QB position

Im really excited for this upcoming year for this particular position. Meyer obviously is our starter, and Bates I could see Redshirting unless he blows Arnuad out of the water during practices.

Im really going to like the offense this season if indeed we are spreading things out. I feel we need to hit more things over the middle though. I do still see Meyer running, just hopefully not for his own sack this time.

    Re: ISUs QB position

Who thinks Wallace Franklin will actually be on the field to be an option for Meyer? We know nothing about this guy yet and I'd still like to put his skills to the test against the group we already have.

Blythe, Moses, Hamilton, Sumrall, and Messiah all have the Division 1 experience. And we have guys like Montgomery and Jones in the wings as well.

    Re: ISUs QB position

I think he migh be one of those that you hope he is academicaly eligable. It seem that he would be a great fit, but something was still uncertain.

The way it shound, Franklin would be a perfect fit opposite of Blythe. Franklin is the speeding guy that we need to help stretch the field. This way Blythe doesn't have to commit suicide jumping for balls all the time.
