Awesome movie!! It received 5 stars by some, but I give it 5 stars for computer animation and battle sequences. 3.5 stars for plot. In the end I felt like, why didn't they do that in the first place? I also questioned why didn't the king of the Persians get killed? Movie would have been a lot better in my opinion if Leonidas spear went threw his head or something. Also that hunch-back guy pissed me off, I kind of would have liked to seem die just like the other traitor. The scene when he was eating an apple was pretty funny. The movie reminded me of Gladiator with it's battle scenes. The battle scenes were unreal.

Great movie - highly recommend. It's the first movie I've seen in a long time that was worth the $10 and it'll be a long 3 months before it comes out on DVD.

It is a really good movie. I think the reason they didn't have Leonidas kill Xerxes is because, while liberties were taken, having an actual historical figure kill another would have been a bit too much.
I went into this movie excited but thinking that at some point I would like to see a more realistic and historically accurate depiction of the story of Thermopylae, but after seeing it, I don't see how they could really make a more entertaining movie than this with the subject matter. Especially since some facts are already debatable in the story, such as the varying accounts of the persian army being anywhere from 10,000 to 1,000,000.
All in all, very good movie. Quite a bit of graphic violence so if that turns you off, might want to skip it, but visually its captivating.

Just saw this movie and I loved it. Was anyone else pumped after seeing it? I know there is another thread about what song we should use for the football team to come out to, but I'd say to just have them watch this movie. Haha.
This was just a visually amazing film. I didn't think I was going to like it much before, but man...it was something else. Definitely worth the money. I might even have to see it again.
It's definitely a movie you'd want to see on a big screen.

Will there be a sequel? The 500? The 50? Xerxes could be in the sequel.

I give this movie a B+. I really enjoyed watching it, but couldn't help but be disappointed in the anticlimactic deaths of the 300 and the overall plot.
The battle scenes were amazing, and the complete badassery of the Spartans saved the movie.

The battle scenes were great. They could have expanded the plot a bit to give Xerxes more depth. At least so you knew how he got his "1,000,000 man" army and what his goals were, it would have taken 5-10 minutes tops.

I agree that 300 was an awsome movie, and that some of the music would be great football enterence music. I think Xerxes didnt die because it would have been too historically inaccurate and because Leonidas told him in their first meeting that he would prove that he was not a god and would bleed like a mortal. He knew where he was tossing that spear. Badass movie.

Well went and saw this last night. First does anyone get the feeling they need to go workout.
I really enjoyed how they put the movie together. Being that they were basing this off the Frank Miller book, I really liked how the Narrator kept the plot together and presented it as you are reliving a story and not partaking in the event.

Good movie. Kind of feels like Lord of the rings, Gladiator and troy added together and then put on steroids. Typically action movie. Great action and visually stunning but the plot seemed weak to me.
The best part of the movie is when the goat was playing the flute (When the hunchback talked to Xerxes). Man that was classic.

yeah, I threw my M&M's away when at the scene where they were all lined up. I wonder how much or any CGI went into that?
