Last night ISU played the worst game possible, Georgia played their best game possible. We lost by 20.
We would beat them probably 3 or 4 times out of 10 games played. They were not that much better than us, we just played a bad game and they played a great game.

Re: WBB Recruits
all i have to say is the team had won 22 games in 4 seasons b4 BF came.. this year we won 26 games.. 3rd most all time for iowa state..
the guy knows how to recruit, and he recruits who he wants, and players that fit his system, ya sure he could go after all americans, but will they fit the system that he runs?? all im saying is lydsey medders was told that she would never play Div 1 basketball... look what she did, Brittany Wilkins was not ery good for 3 years, 4th year has a break out year and is now in the WNBA, Allison Lacey came all the way from Aulstralia to play for Bill Fenelly.. Dont ever 2nd guess BF and do not, do not question his recruiting, this team was worst then the football program, and womens basketball is way harder to recruit..
i also think this need to be closed now, because ppl are startin to get personal and that is just dumb, we are all cyclone fans, and all hae our oppinions, no need for bashing eachother
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -

CMoore, Allison was an exchange student in Iowa, that was how she ended up here.

Re: WBB Recruits
Wow, I would respond to the flames by a Shockin, but the rest of you have shut him down nicely.
One other point for fodder in the recruiting discussion is that Brenda Frese (of Last years championship team) was head coach at MN and left to take the Maryland job and was lambasted for leaving. Her comment was that there wasn't enough talent in the midwest to win a national title. Intersestingly she went to east coast and promptly won a national title.
To say that Bill only recruits midwest is to ignore two of the best point guards ISU has ever had Wilson and Medders from Seattle & LA.
We had a couple of years as all programs do when some the recruits didn't pan out, but the key is Bill rebounded from that a put together a couple of stellar classes. We have a very bright future and I expect we will be challenging for conference titles for years to come.
BTW...isn't it ironic that on the day that I was thinking Bill F. is the type of coach that people one day name buildings for that someone comes on here demanding he be fired.

Re: WBB Recruits
bawie,
I've haven't missed a home game in 15 years and have attended probably 30-40 road games in that time. So I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of the "job" Bill is doing. How many games have you attended?

But the reason she went to the state of Iowa was to in fact go to iowa state, i remember hearing an interview about it..i wish i had a link.. but yes i know she was an exchange student, but one of the reasons were because she wanted to play at iowa state

Re: WBB Recruits
You are correct CMoore it is no coincidence that she went to Huxley....

Shockin...suggest you read the article in the post entitled Cyclone Fanatic Defined....may not cause you to rethink your position, but you may better understand what you are up against.

I saw Georgia taking shots with hands in faces and in awkward positions that still went in. I saw rebounds that went to Georgia players that ISU had no shot at getting to. You expect us to win games when the opponent has everything going for them that evening and nothing going for us? That's why teams like UNC, Tennesse, and UConn don't make it out of the season without going undefeated - IT HAPPENS TO EVERYONE!!! Ours just happened to be last nite. And we got buzzsawed. I agree with a previous post in another thread - on any given nite we beat georgia 3-4 out of 10 games. Georgia plays like they do in their first round game and we take them to the woodshed. Georgia plays like they do last nite and most teams in the tourney don't stand a chance.

I certainly respect your passionate opinons. It's easy to get discouraged with a performance like last nights. Let's move on. There is always next year. Football season can't get here soon enough. Go clones!!

Re: WBB Recruits
Not sure I would have liked to see our mens team out there against Georgia in the first half
