Cougill -- SC Heelan

If I recall correctly, Iowa State is recruiting this guy for 2009. Cougill had a solid performance yesterday going 8-12 for 17 points in SC Heelan's win over Harlan in the 3A semifinals. He also scored the game winner with a "reverse tip in" as time expired. I don't know if anyone else saw the play on the news but it was an impressive play on his part. I wasn't at the game so I don't know how good he is, but it looks like he could be a decent addition to the Cyclones. Then again, I'm sure McDermott could reel in some top 15 talent for 2009.

I definitely think they should go after this kid. I believe he is getting looks by many D1 schools. Definitely a good one to keep an eye on.

Speaking of the state tourney.... I saw on whotv.com some footage from the class 4-A game of CR Kennedy vs. DSM Roosevelt... WOW! That game looked like it was one of the best ever at state... high scoring and some serious athletes on the floor. The Rails looked like they had a big center or power forward, but I didn't catch his name. Are there any D-I prospects from either of those teams?

dude...its lincoln not roosevelt...i was at the game....adam robinson will play football for Iowa thats all the D1 talent out there

Cougill IMO is the real deal. Get him now. He still has a pudgy middle school face and is 6'9". Made some wonderful moves from behind the backboard. This is from a Harlan fan.

53 I believe...My family just moved there in January. My mom called from the game saying how it just made her sick seeing them lose like that. I told her to suck it up, that she was just trying to fit in, and that she couldn't actually really care since they'd only lived there for a couple months. It didn't make it any better when I said "haha, just kidding" at the end, in fact it sent me back to my childhood when I messed up and lipped off to her and had to sprint for my room as I heard my dad's footsteps coming up the stairs on a mission. Ouch, my rear end hurts just thinking about that whoopin

Look at it this way: Cougill lives in Big 12 country. If McDermott does something impressive next year, and if Cougill is good enough this should be a natural matchup. On the other hand, Bohannan to Iowa seemed like a natural also.
