Was listening to Dan Patrick's show on ESPN radio on the way back from lunch. He had Grant Hill on (former Duke player).
Was a good interview. After it, Dan came back and gave the listeners this nugget.
During Hill's 4 year career at Duke, he played in 120 games. Guess how many were on national TV......................

This is what is going to happen to NASCAR. This stuff is EVERYWHERE. You can't watch the SPEED channel anymore without seeing it. EVERY single show is a NASCAR show. They used to have cool road racing and other stuff on there. With so much exposure, it wears people out, I beleive NASCAR has seen a reduction in ratings over the last couple years.
Before I get negative rep'ed to death, I am not hating on NASCAR, I watch it from time to time, I just think it is getting to be too much.

It drives me nuts that espn.com has Duke losing as a Bracket Buster. They were a 6 seed (Maybe even should've been a higher seed). I don't see that being a bracket buster. Stupid east coast Bias.

That arguement/statement about NASCAR would hold more water if it pertained to one team in NASCAR. The NFL is overexposed and does quite well. I really don't see the correlation between that and Duke. I may be biased though since I hate duke and enjoy NASCAR.

It's the "Notre Dame" effect. I liked Notre Dame until NBC signed the contract to nationally televise every Notre Dame game until the Heat Death of the Universe, back in the 1980s.
Part of the problem I see is the continuous drum-beating by "Duke" Vitale. And the tendency for the National Sports Media to continuously and sickeningly cheer on Goliath to beat David.
