Spring practice

Dumb question, but when does it start for you guys? One would think that with a new coach and staff in place, the DSM media would be all over it, then again, the DSM press doesn't exactly go goo-goo over Iowa spring football either.

I've lived here in DSM now for 10 years and to this day, i'm still surprised at how much differently the Iowa media covers Iowa & Iowa St when compared to that of my Huskers.

ISU Spring practice starts tomorrow, March 20th from what I understand.

Arrived in STL via Ames, IA & Bloomington, IN!

Thanks. Is Chizik having a press conference to kick spring practice off? Being an outsider, i'm curious to hear what he has to say.

Re: Spring practice

i asked about going to a practice but Coach Chizik is keeping them closed (maybe not to everyone but closed to me, at least).
But the March 21 and 22 practices are open to the public and start at 7:00 p.m.

Re: Spring practice

I know they are doing a big Spring Football thing on Cy-Hawk Talk this week. As far as spring practice goes this year, there are going to be so many more juco's getting here in the fall I think I'll be a little more interested then.

Can't say I am. If I had not slacked off last week and hit the gym more often, I'd go. Gotta get back on track this week.

Plus, I doubt being it's the first two practices, the public will get to see all that much. By design, I'm sure.

I'll get to see a couple practices and a scrimmage at the coach's clinic at the end of the month - so I'll be ok with that.

I agree about the Iowa media. The OWH has more Husker coverage over the spring and summer than the DMR has for ISU, iowa and UNI combined. Although the Husker following there in Omaha may go a little too far (cult-like), the DM media coverage is really lacking.

I think that the Spring FB press conference is next week after they've practiced a few days.

Do or do not, there is no try .....Yoda

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

You are force fed Husker crap in the Omaha Area. You have to consciously avoid it.
