Damn...if that doesn't get to ya at least a little bit - I don't know what will.
I hope and pray B.F. will be here until he's coached his final basketball game.

I'm sure he will be. I have nothing but respect for him as a coach and person. He is a positive role model and brought life to womens basketball for ISU. I wouldnt even be surprised if he was what brought excitement to womens athletics in general for ISU.

Very nice article.
I wonder what kind of crap we'll see from the DM Rag today.
| Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans… I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care… I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it… let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

Coach Fennelly deserves all of the respect he gets.
In a world of greed and money, people like him really stand out. I hope he is here forever.

In today's world, very few of us have the opportunity of meeting a 'pioneer'. Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Coach Fennelly and been witness to what he has done for ISU Women's Basketball has met a pioneer. | | |

My only hope is that Chizik and GMac can bring the same success and feelings of devotion to Football and MBB.

I may be too optimistic, but I could see all four "big" sport coaches currently at ISU falling into the beloved camp. Cael, GMac, Gene, along with Bill.

I was not able to go to Mpls for the games but was as the BIG12 tourney in OKC and we had a great time cheering for the women's team. Everytime you would see one of the players or coaches they would thank you for coming and supporting the team. JP needs to get out the checkbook for Bill. Before Bill ISU would not bring in enough fans to pay for the lights to be turned on!

Another great article on the positives at ISU. Unfortunately, you must have to be out of state to write this type of story on the Cyclones.

outstandin article, i am pretty sure we are the only fans that would stil be cheering when we are down by 30 in the 2nd half, in a womens basketball game
| Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." |

Outstanding, why can't the Rag print stuff like this? BF is a great coach, the score last night does not reflect the status of the program.

I also had the good fortune of stumbling upon this story on my lunchbreak. (We get the Star Trib at work.) ISU has the greatest fans in the world.
However, I'm not sure about the need to rip on the register every time another paper finds something uncommonly special about our fanbase. Before any stories were ever written like this, by whoever took the time to write them, we all have known how special we have had it. Be thankful for what we have and chuckle more often at the badly written stuff rather than lose sleep over it. We'll be better fanantics for it.
