Who's the Point?

The obvious forward looking question - who's the point guard next year? I think every other position will see improvement in talent and depth. PG is the big question mark. Ezell could. We haven't seen enough of Mossman and Florzak to know their potential, though I like the way Mossman moves - she reminds me of Plumley. I think Lacey could, but, would be out of position - I'd much rather have her at the 2 or 3. Is there a worthy JC?

Why not us?

Re: Who's the Point?

i think you will see Ezell run alot of the point guard, i wont be suprised to see alot of improvment next year, i also like mossman, i wouldnt be suprised to see her get more minutes, i agree that i think lacey will stay at a 2guard pos, but who are the girls coming in next year again? if i remember right we got 1 pg.. so it will be interesting to see how well she does

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Re: Who's the Point?

I think Bill would like to see Shelli step up into the point guard role next year. Lacey can play it as can Ezell, but it isn't the natural position for either. Expecte Lacy & Ezell to play the 2 & 3 with Bolte. I think that ideal scenario has Mossman at point backed up by Anna point (30-30 minutes a game bt'n them) with Ezell & Lacy playing some as well. When all three of Lacy Ezell & Bolte are in. I really think Bolte will mostly be 3 similar to Megan R.

Re: Who's the Point?

Medders was very laudatory about the point guard camp she went to. Even Wieben went and said it helped her to understand the flow of the game. Perhaps everyone should go.

Re: Who's the Point?

I think Ezell will see most of the time. I like Mosman, but she may need a little bit of time before she sees significant minutes next year. I think Lacy will play better at other positions than PG, so I don't think she'll be there.

Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans…I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

Re: Who's the Point?

Bill is recruiting a JC point guard in Kansas. He has been working on her for the last 2 months.

Re: Who's the Point?

I think Ezell will start and Mosman will split time.

I think Lacey has probably the best "vision" of all of them, but I'm hoping she plays the 2. She gives so many matchup problems I'd like to see her roaming around looking for shots.

I see Bolte getting a lot of time, especially pre-conference. I'm guessing she'll also have some real scoring punch, but will need to learn to defend (based on seeing her in three high school games, so take my opinion and count it as close to worthless!).

Anyway, I think the starting small forward next season will be Ross.

If they started the season tomorrow, here's my guess at the lineup:
5 - Pierson
4 - Wieben
3 - Ross
2 - Lacey
1- Ezell

Wow that is a really BIG line-up! It sounds good and only time will tell.

With either Anna or Shellie on the court, we will have the best looking point guard in the country.
