What are Some of the Recent Legal Problems with ISU's MBB Program
I guess somebody needs to clue me in on recent legal problems with the ISU basketball program. The last problems I remember were Homan & Vroman's issues back in the spring of 2003- almost 4 years ago!
I've seen a number of posts saying G-Mac has to take severe action and kick Mike Taylor off ISU's hoop team to send a strong message to the rest of the team. There are other posters who say they don't want Mike Taylor's actions to drag down the ISU program and that we should have high standards.
Where were you folks during the Tim Floyd and Larry Eustachy years? Were you calling for those coaches heads and demanding guys like Kenny Pratt, Vroman, Homan, etc be booted from the ISU hoops team? Did you care that players didn't graduate? That 50% of the kids transferred out.
It seems to me many of you just turned your heads because ISU was winning Big 12 titles. Now that G-Mac is building the program from scratch and expectations aren't high- then Mike Taylor's life is expendable!
Mike Taylor has made mistakes & needs to be penalized. I agree that ISU should have high standards and IMO G-Mac is the best thing to EVER happen to ISU MBB. G-Mac will DEMAND that his players perform on the court, in the classroom and be good citizens. That doesn't mean he should discard Mike Taylor after a couple personal problems.
IMO way too many people want to run-off Mike Taylor because we could then recruit another potential stud. Unless there is more to the Mike Taylor story, I say he should keep his scholarship even if it means he never plays another minute for the ISU hoops team.

How about Sam Mack, I think he knocked off a Burger King.

rworkman83, yeah Kenny played for the Fargo Bees, I believe?
Another time, I remember when Pratt and the other senior ISU players (some time after their season was done) played some exhibition game at our high school against our HS alumni team in Huxley. Anyways, the Ames PD showed up and somehow he eluded them after that, I don't remember what quite happened.

I was in school when this fiasco took place and you know what the funniest part about one starting MBB player and one starting FB player robbing this store was? This Burger King had ISU team pictures all throughout the restaraunt including the current MBB and FB roster pictures above the tills where Levon was pointing the gun with NO mask on. What a bunch of morons.
Totally agree with you isucy86 on your post.

Mack transferred to Arizona State and then played several years in the NBA. ISU also had another really good player during that time named Mark Baugh, I think he flunked out of school.

If you are a black athlete, always rob the hometown Burger King. They will never figure out what hit them.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

I even heard that one of the BK employees even said "Hi Sam" before the robbery.
On a side note, Belefia Parks was a recruit at the time Kenny Pratt & the boys first got to ISU. He was kicked off the team for trying to steal stereo equipment from KMart. If you remember that incident in Des Moines when Pratt ran out of the Gym after a game (Des Moines Dragons?) and Channel 13(?) was there to film it all, the person he is talking to under the basket is Carlo Walton, another Floyd recruit who was suspended for academics. When the camera crew follows Pratt out of the gym and jumps in a van and takes off, guess who was driving the van? Lou Parks. Belefia "Lou" Parks...
