I loved everything leading up to that game. Probably one of the most memorable football days in ISU history. I still remember the wind howling due north at about 50-60 mph up Beach Ave.

EDIT: I've got friends that will vouch for me on this... I swear walking up to the stadium after the all-clear had been given, some of the low lying clouds looked exactly like the head of Cy on the ISU logo. I said "I wonder if that means we'll win tonight?"

Guess we all know the answer to that one. ;)

Deep within the heart of Iowa, a storm is brewing...
... the winds of change ripple throughout the vast fields of corn surrounding the small college town of Ames.

The Gene Chizik era of football continues, and, with it, a renewed attitude of pride, determination, and success.

This is Cyclone Football.

Actuallly, me and my roommate saw that too. It was kind of eerie, really. However, we walked to the stadium just two minutes after the sirens stopped blowing. We were stoked!

All work and no play makes me a dull boy.

Re: Cyclones on Wikipedia

Nice write up on wikipedia. I'd like to see the history of how we transitioned from Iowa State College Cardinals to Iowa State University Cyclones. That would explain why our mascot and team name don't match.

could happen- anyone else remember that arizona lost to santa clara in a 2-15? anyone remember who it was before us? just need it to happen again and THEN people will be saying "Hampton who?"

The ongoing story of the persistent attempts to get to the other side.
