Also, I agree that the foul was legit at the end, but that was a tough time to call it on a wild scramble in the closing seconds, and if that was a foul, then why no foul on the contact on Acie Law's missed layup?

A&M rebounded well all game til the end. I will stick w/ my stance that you just don't call a chippy foul like that with 3 seconds left in a big game like that I disagree that the extra second didn't have any impact on the game. I think it at least adds the potential time for a pass to be made beyond the inbounds pass.

I hate to bring up bad memories, but did Law missing that layup remind anyone else of our point guard missing a pretty important layup late in a tourney game about seven years ago?

I dont agree with the clock decision, but would that be as huge of a deal if that inbound layup would have been made? Would the clock discrepency even have happened?
Its a hard loss, espcially for those who picked them to go on in the bracket. :(

The 1.1 seconds may be slightly long, but hawkeye_t is right. The ball did not immediately bounce out of bounds. If they had only taken off .2, that would have been a bad call.

Between A&M and the refs there was a lot of choking.
A&M needed to a) make that layup or another free throw, b) get a rebound, c) not make a horrid inbounds pass.
The refs needed to a) maybe call a foul on Law's layup (that guy brought his hand around the back and I've seen a lot softer fouls than that on a layup), b) not take more than a few tenths (didn't it hit Calipari?)
Any one of those things happen and I think A&M could have won.

The clock should have been running that whole time. 1.1 was darn close. I don't know how the announcers didn't see it.

Send those refs back to ref school or let someone expert make the call. Panic set in for the zebras. They were baffled with Calipara BS.

This would make a good poll question - how much time went off on the play. 0.2 secoid IMO. The ball went straight down when he touched it. Makes you wonder what the big wig ref overseer in the stands will say tomorrow.

The ball can travel about 50 feet in 1.1 second after it touched the hand. One second is an eon if you look close. The fast motion replay was only a fraction of a second. Shades of Oregon-Oklahoma game.

.2 would have been if it bounced out of bounds. It did not, hence the 1.1 seconds.
As I said earlier, 1.1 might have been a bit long, but .2 is way short.

And the announcers just confirmed that the refs made the right call. What were you people watching? :)

Okay, the bvall hit in bounds and then touched Calipara in 0.7 second. BBall is a game of inches - one foot in bounds when it bounced.
The A&M inbounder the second time missed a wide open player running down the side who had a better shot to score. Joseph Jones missed the pass and gave it to Kirk who had little chance. Another bad play to lose. Shades of Tinsley missing th Hampton layup.
