Comparison of Curvey & Dwight Sweeney since I have heard many say that Curvey's pro hopes would be to be a Freeney type player. In 2002 at combine Freeney vs. Brent's pro day. Based on numbers, one would have a hard time believing Curvey has a shot. Speed and height work against him as speed rusher. Strength works against as power. But, never bet against Big Play Curvey.
Height
Freeney 6 0 7/8
Curvey 5 11 7/8
40 Yard
Freeney 4.47
Curvey 4.99
Weight
Freeney 256
Curvey 302
Bench Reps
Freeney 28
Curvey 22

Wow. I can't imagine why we went 4-8. If these were some of our best players

It is sad when a lineman can do only 20 reps. The running backs opn other teams are doing that. Stevie is slower than molasses. Brandt runs like a tank. Based on numbers, no one is in the mix. It better be something other than numbers that they bring to the picnic. Too bad they work out on their own,. Seems like the group had bad work habits to be that big, amd that weak and then ultra slow, Just more disappointment on workouts, Joe the lineman, and Cory the quitter. What is in the water today? I thought start of spring training brought mnore enthusiasm. Set the timetable back for a big bowl. Set the time table back for the NCAA. It will be a road to hoe yet. Watching A&M and Kansas tonight, the Big 12 has some woerk of its own to do to hit the next tier. If Stevie is a 4/79 runner and Jamaaicah is 4.4, our current group of oline people will not be able to block fast enough for him. They were too slow for Stevie and now they have a moptor behind them.

Yeah, but Curvy is good at hurdling low lying blockers. You are right 4.99 will not catch very many qbs.

I was discussing workouts with a former player who told me that they never worked on the "pretty muscles" (my word) like pecs and biceps. What they did do was work a ton on core strength. This is the reason that our guys don't test well at combines. I still wouldn't want to bump into any of them in a dark alley.

So who gives thea advice on what to work out as? You know you lift 225 as many timnes over 20 as possible. Some guys lift it 45-50 times. You run the 40 like the devil is chasing you. It was on artificial turf. Anythinbg over 4.8.4.9 for a lineman is borderline. Running backs better go 4.5 to get drafted.

Core strength is a different kind of strength, but I don't know how well that translates in football. I do see some really bad numbers.
Curvey like Freeney? I would see them as totally different players. Won't Curvey end up more like a James Reed type guy?

Deandre did not work out at the combine as he was still recovering. He only did bench at pro day for the same reason. He is not ready to run, or vertical etc.
