Corey McIntosh has decided to transfer from the Iowa State men’s basketball team, according to a press release issued by the school this afternoon.
McIntosh, a 6-foot junior guard from West Covina, Calif., averaged 4.4 points and 2.5 assists in 24.1 minutes this season. He started 29 of the Cyclones’ 31 games.
According to the press release, McIntosh said he wants to play closer to his home.

Prolly go D-II, you think that would make sense since he is already a senior, unless he plays at Cal-State Fullerton or some smaller school around LA

Ya know, I don't want him to go, but I can't blame the guy. He's got enough talent to put up at least 10ppg and lots of assists, but he was put into a difficult position. I think he'll fair very well at a high mid-major or wherever he chooses to go.

That is pretty interesting, I saw him at the Rec tonight shooting hoops. I guess Thompson gets his scholarship now.

Maybe the pressures of these highly touted guards coming in this years recruiting class turned him off... Playing closer to home is completely understandable, I mean come on Ames is just about as different from California as it can get!! Unless he was also a big Cow Tipper over in Calli...?

He probably figures his future doesn't involve basketball so why spend another year 2000 miles away from his friends and family. Can't say that I blame him.

This has been known for awhile. That is why I said, McDermott was able to use the Thompson scolly issue, when he really knew Corey was leaving. Probably best for everyone. We get a strong guard in here as a frosh, learning the system, it's all good!

Idk if Thompson gets that scholarship so fast. McDermott might be going after another guard now that Taylors in trouble.
