I was watching in HD, and I had the ticker. What was annoying for me was that the sound kept switching between 5.1 and 2.0 during the game action.

I noticed the sound was fouled up a bit too. Perhaps the feed was messed up and different affiliates also had some issues with it.

Strange though that some would see the ticker and others wouldn't.

Amazing how dependent we've become on all these little techno advances in sports broadcasting!

I think the other side to this is that the refs are calling too many fouls. Basketball is a contact sport. The refs could probably call a foul on almost every single possession if they called everything that could be interpreted as breaking the rules of the game.

I'm tired of automatic whistles when the ball gets passed inside. In many games more than half of the fouls called on the inside are not necessary. The fouls are either non existant (all ball, etc) or so insignificant that it shouldn't be called. Also, if they are going to continue to over zealously call the inside game at least be consistent about it.

The game of basketball was originally designed to be a finesse sport, not a contact sport. But you are correct, in many cases, basketball has definitely degenerated into football on hardwood, or tile, or rubber, or concrete...NCAA WBB being the most recent victim...

I agree with all fouls being called no matter when they occur. I cannot stand it when the refs call absolutely nothing on the game deciding possession...it's like playing a whole different game during the last 10 seconds in order to determine an outcome of a contest that has been officiated a different way for the other 39 minutes.

That being said, the general consensus has been to let everything go during the last possessions of games but that was definitely NOT adhered to last night. You have the A&M foul and there was also another foul called in a different game that you normally wouldn't expect to see called (can't remember which one, I think it was KU). It's like they told the refs to not let so much go at the end of tournament games this year or something which would be fine if that was how they did it during the season too.
