I can't really argue that. "The Barn" does suck, especially compared to Rupp.

Steve Alford will as well, going from the s*** hole called Carver Hawkeye to The Pit at New Mexico!

Put a team that can play on the court and it will turn into one of the toughest courts in the Big 10 and college basketball.

And people might not remember, Williams Arena used to be a tough damn place to play. Back in the day, you pretty much marked any trip there down as a loss.

I of course am spoiled by Hilton, but I just laugh when they say that. I went to the Cyclone Men's game this year, and was up in the seats that have an overhang, so you can't see any of the big scoreboard. They installed these little scoreboards on the periphery of the seating so those as unfortunate as I could at least see what the score was. Add in the sheer absurdity of a raised floor, and Hilton seems even more like paradise. Everybody talks about places like this having character, bu come on! I keep trying to convince people to go to the game at Hilton next year to compare who's arena is better!

perhaps it was the expectations of a program that sells out a 23k seat arena every game that made Tubby go to Minnesota.... hows that for deep, profound insight?
I'm sure Bill's Arena can be a tough place when the team is playing well... just ask Steve Alford since he seems to be a favorite topic on this board in the last 72 hrs.

Guess I'm in the minority here but I really like Williams. I even made a trip up there specifically to see the place while I was at ISU. It's neat to see a place like that still in use...made me dream of how awesome it would be to have the Armory still in use. Guess I'm not a big fan of the new-style arenas...way too stale and uninviting. No character at all.

We're really spoiled having Hilton. I even saw someone write on the Hawk message board about how great an enviorement and how easy it is to create "electricity" at Hilton. Carver Hawkeye holds a lot, but I've seen Hilton only have 8,000 or 9,000 in it and still seem louder than a full Carver Hawkeye. I hope Pollards plan to add sky boxes doesn't screw it up.

The Barn will be a tough place to play with Tubby as coach of the Gophers. He just wanted to be somewhere where the fans would just show a little appreciation for his efforts. He averaged 26 wins in 10 years at UK and they have been planting "For Sale" signs in his front yard since his second year!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Not only that but I like Tubby's decision. It must suck being from Kentucky where winning 26 games a year for 10 years in a row isn't good enough. I applaud his choice to leave.

Is anybody else fired up for Tubby to come to Hilton next year for our game? I think it will be a really fun time.
