Re: USC vs UNC
I think Tim Floyd was upset about the three point attempt right in front of his bench with about 2 min to play USC gets fouled no call....
He let his emotion get the best of him...

Re: USC vs UNC
I think what he is mad about is that they fouled Gibson out, yet Hansboro ran free, and the refs don't have the courage to call fouls on him. Just making a final statement before he left the floor.
UNC had no answer for Gibson, so he gets fouls. It happens, UNC gets as many breaks as Duke.

Re: USC vs UNC
They basically had their foot on UNC's throat. Gibson got that 4th foul the foot was lifted and USC got knocked down.
They couldn't hit a shot after that and weren't able to keep up with UNC once they had the momentum back. Too bad, USC played one helluva game for about 75% of it. That last 25% killed 'em.

He let his emotion get the best of him... It's still a 6 point game, at that point, and they swallow the whistle. Vanderbilt was robbed in the first game (you can't change pivot feet) looks like George Mason did more damage than good.

Personally I'll never buy into the conspiracy theories. When the game is going, I don't think zebras make calls based on what the color of jersey is or the name on the back.
Fans and the media love to play it up that way. It's an easy excuse to use when the UNC's of the world keep beating your team.
Do I think officials make bad and questionable calls? Of course - yet I've seen them go for and against about every team in the nation.

"Hey did you see that awesome call the ref made last night" "Well no?"
"Yea, I thought he got it wrong, but after the replay it really showed he made an excellant call and it made a big difference in the game!"

Oh well. I would have like to seen Timmy win, but at least he hasn't gone any further with USC than he did with ISU.

Vandy did get jobbed though. Basically, two calls messed up my bracket to no end tonight. If that foul on USC wasn't called, I think if they sunk a trey that drive, they win. Vandy should have gotten a tournover for a walk, but didn't. Oh well. I guess apparently 3/4 1v2 match-ups was the way to go this year. If it ends up being all 1 seeds in the final four; someone is getting kicked.

Never hear that at the watercooler. A well officiated game is one where you don't even know they are there, it's a cliche but true.

Re: USC vs UNC
How about Billy P-ACC-ker giving the PAC10 a kudo tonight, saying he thought they were the best conference this year and he thought the elite 8 would reflect that. Quite a call for him considering UCLA was in and Oregon had a big lead and, at the time, USC was giving UNC all they wanted.

Never hear that at the watercooler. There are a lot of jobs like that though. When the standardized test scores are released, you never hear how good teachers have done; just how well students performed. When a member of Congress stands against everyone else in his party because he feels morally obligated to, everyone says how they're a "flip-flopper." If you have a job in the public eye, you're going to have harsh criticism from anyone who disagrees with you just because you're highly visible.

Oh man, that's it, you may now crap on my bracket. At least I still have GTWN in there.
Great run by USC this year, I'm sure they surprised some out there for getting the the 16.
