I'm a committee member for Habitat of Central Iowa and we are holding a fundraising golf event on May 11 at Coldwater in Ames. Johnny Orr, and possibly Jake Sullivan, will be the featured guest(s). Each participant will have the opportunity to tee off with Johnny.

There will be a silent auction with some pretty sweet gifts: autographed Bball by Hoiberg, Fball autographed by Chizik and team, lots of restaurant and local business gift certificates. Entry fee includes dinner and 18 holes.
Great event for ISU fans and helping build homes for those in need...can't beat it.
I live far away but would be there if I lived in Iowa. Tell Johnny that I wish we would name our court at Hilton after him! Also, let him know that I am praying for both he and his wife...I know she is dealing with Alzheimer's.
I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

I did not know that. Alzheimer's is a hell of a disease. My girlfriend's grandfather is suffering from it right now, and it gives me eerie reminiscence of my own grandfather's death. I'll be praying for her health as well now.
My Grandmother had Alzheimer's about 6 years ago, and It is very hard on the family, watching a loved one not be able to remember or know anyone, or thing. I would not wish that on anyone.

A couple years ago, when ISU was honoring the Orr coached team with Hornacek, I was getting all the players autographs on a ISU carflag (now framed) after Johnnie had signedit. Rommie was sitting behind him, and I asked Johnnie if I could get a picture of Him and Rommie togeather, he was genuinely happy for the request. He asked if I could send him a copy and he woukd pay for it. I replied to just give me an address and it will be on its way. I had it professionally framed with smaller side pictures or that day and sent to Johnnie at my expense. I received one of the nicest thank you's ever.
That may is a class ISU was blessed to have Johnnie and Rommie as part of their family.
