Shin Shines to Send Cyclones to Fifth
TUCSON, Ariz. – Four starters recorded spring-best scores and the Iowa State women's golf team came out strong with season-low 18-hole totals during the first two rounds of action at the Mountainview Collegiate Saturday. The Cyclones currently stand in fifth place in a field stacked with Big 12 Conference competition after shooting a 291 and 294 for a first-day score of 585. ISU's best team score prior was a 300 shot in the second round at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Invitational. Nebraska is at the top of the team standings, ending the day with a tournament-low 285 to gain a 10-stroke margin over Northwestern. Indiana's Elaine Harris and Oklahoma's Kendall Dye, competing individually, are tied for the individual lead with a two-round score of 139.
