Florida

What is different about the Florida athletic department that they can win national championships in both football and basketball? If revenue were the determining factor Ohio State should be dominate since their sports revenue and expenditures is tops.

Well Florida is number two in revenues, so they arn't hurting for money. Its a telling statistic that shows college sports is big business.

They didn't do anything drastic like we would all think. They just bought Jesus with all of their money. He's their savior!

All work and no play makes me a dull boy.

Re: Florida

For one there are about a zillion Division 1 athletes living in Florida, and not too many of them want to go to locations where it gets to minus 10 degrees with a 25 mph wind.
Somehow the idea that a guy could go to the beach after classes in January probably sounds pretty good to an 18 year old high school kid.

It would be rather interesting if the title game turned out to be Florida vs. OSU.

At that point, I'll be screaming about buying off refs from mountaintops. tOSU shouldn't have gotten as far as they have IMO. I expect them to lose to G-Town.

Re: Florida

you can't say its just location. Yea its easy to recruit kids to Gainesville compared to Ames, but if location is key why is Nebraska a historical powerhouse in football? or Kansas in basketball? When it comes down to it, its the commitment to excellence in athletics by the AD and fans. We unfortunately did not have that with BVD. I think Pollard has us directed in that direction, but it will take time.

That would make for a compelling matchup after their BCS game Also Noah and Oden are the two of the top four ranked NBA draft prospects right now.

How can ya complain about refs? I'm aware of the one questionable call vs. Xavier.

Yet Oden has lived in foul trouble the entire tournament. He hasn't been getting the typical perceived special treatment from officials.

While we may be programmed to hate OSU/Big 10 - they've got very good guards and a center that doesn't suck. That spells wins.

I'd just blame the refs because it would be easier than saying it's a nationwide conspiracy. You must have missed my sarcasm; I just don't think that they are anywhere near the top two teams in the nation. Top ten, yes; but I think they got "lucky" in their win over Memphis because I believe AM would have mopped the court with them. This is all my opinion and speculation, so it doesn't really matter. tOSU just shouldn't be muttered with NC this year IMO.
