I can't wait to see our team - - even if is just Spring Game, in a couple weeks. I really think we are going to see a noticable difference. Listening to Gene just gets me more pumped
Like we use the whole field and we take chances?
I like Gene, and think he will be a good coach, but we have to teach him to were ISU colors to press conferences!
I get the impression from listening to Gene that he's really enjoying being a head coach. He's a good interview, usually tells it like it is. Can't wait to hear him after games.
I am really impressed so far with this coaching staff. Coach Chizik may not micromanage his coaches but they are really all on the same page in a big way. I am really impressed with coach Sheppard and the way the weight and conditioning program. Very impressed, it seems like a staff that is at the upper end of pay in an elite conference.
this is awesome.. i cant wait for the season to start
I think I heard more about football strategy than I've ever heard at an ISU press conference....good to see.:yes4lo:
A little nervous about his comments about not having much offensive experience ...that's what his assistants are for I guess. :baffled5wh:
Maybe Pollard could have given him a little more scratch for an ISU polo. :laugh8kb:
Sorry mike4cy, I am an accounting grad that took extra math to make up for my english skills.
The more I hear this guy, the more I like him. Right now it all seems to be about attitude and that's the place to start. I can't wait see some of his game plans and also see how he and the team react. It appears he has little tolerance to mistakes.
Just gotta do it, just do it
Gene is certainly a contrast from DMAC. I think he views the big picture with a more keen eye. Seems to be more of a "thinker" that has his finger on the pulse of the entire team. Less of a cheerleader. I'm going to be patient. He needs players as does GMAC.
I'm developing a Madden-Farvian Man Crush on our coach.
There is such a difference in the level of professionalism between this staff, and the previous staff. I have no idea what that will translate into, as far as wins and losses go. The thing that I like is that I don't think that they are limiting themselves as to what they accomplish. Conversely, I don't think that if they get killed this year it will affect them either.
I like that Gene is answering questions in an honest, straight-forward manner. He is trying to educate the fans in, not only his style, but how to be a winning program. He knew what he was getting into, and what a joke this team was perceived to be by any of the top teams that we played. I really believe that it will take longer, in years, to overcome the deficiencies in attitude that the previous staff created, than it will to narrow the talent gap.
