Cyclones Move Up in Final Round
TURLOCK, Calif. – Joe Cermak and Chris Baker registered their fifth top-20 finish of the season as the Iowa State men's golf team wrapped up play at the ninth annual Stevinson Ranch Invitational hosted by Colorado Tuesday. The Cyclones moved up to ninth up in the standings, firing a team total of 311 in the final round to finish with a three-round score of 916. Temperatures of 45 degrees and winds gusting up to 30 mph played a key role as significantly higher scores were posted across the board in the 15-team field. Akron was the only team able to improve from its second-round score. Wichita State captured back-to-back titles going back to last week's Ron Moore Invitational and Illinois State's Matt Miller garnered medalist honors, shooting 2-under par in the tournament.
