Cyclone receiver charged with intoxication

Man, when it comes to dealing with Chizik I would hate to be this guy.

Cyclone receiver charged with intoxication

March 29, 2007

Jacob Williams, a freshman receiver on the Iowa State football team, was charged last weekend with public intoxication.

Williams, 18, from West Des Moines, was arrested in Ames around 1:30 a.m. Sunday at Beach Avenue and Lincoln Way and transported to the Story County Justice Center. A school official said Wednesday that coach Gene Chizik has met with Williams and the matter is being addressed in a manner consistent with team rules.

Williams is not listed on the Cyclones depth chart.

To be honest, things aren't looking bright for student-atheletes in the off-season right now... MT, Backes, Williams... who's next?

All work and no play makes me a dull boy.

Is this guy a walk-on? I don't remember him being part of any recruiting class.

And what did Backes do?

Backes got a public intox. Honestly I've never heard of this guy, so whatever. And Backes doesn't bother me either because he is a senior.

Some People see things as they are and say why? I dream things that never were and say why not? When I took this job I said why not Iowa State? Why not winning? Why not bowl games? Why not sell outs? Why not national respect? Why not us? Why not here? Why not the cyclone family?

So the Register has to report every time a walk-on gets drunk now?

The only thing that bothers me about Backes is that he got arrested because he started to pick fights in the bar.

Serioursly, how hard is it to stay out of trouble. Wait until you're out of college, then you can go be that idiot you've always dreamed of being. If you're going to drink, don't drive. If you're going to drink a lot, have someone take you home. Not that hard.

Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

The article on Backes said he was asked to leave the bar. How would you like to the bouncer that has to take him out? I dont think so.
