Define irony

The last two coaches who remain on staff at Iowa are Buckley and Garrett.

Two recruits going to Iowa State= Buckley and Garrett.

Re: Define irony

See, I thought this was gonna be a thread devoted to Con Air. One of the crappiest movies of all time. Nicholas Cage is a poopy actor as it is, but I lost some respect for John Malkovich too. It's just really hard for me not to laugh at how bad the acting and writing in that movie is.

"Define irony: a bunch of idiots dancing around on a plane to a song made famous by a band that died in a plane crash."

Re: Define irony

I am not seeking negative rep here, but I happen to think that Con Air is a pretty good action flick.

Cage is an awesome actor. Gone in 60 seconds, Face off and Matchstick men were all awesome!

Well I wasn't seeking negative rep either for stating my opinion, but I guess there are a lot of nicholas cage fans out there. Geez guys, take it easy.

and Alannis is an idiot. Everything in that stupid song is a coincidence, NOT irony.

Through the fire and the flames we'll carry on.

I read somewhere there is only one thing in that whole song that actually is irony.

Re: Define irony

Can we all just agree that Wierd Al's "Isn't it ionic?" was better than the original? This is coming from a guy that doesn't think Weird Al is all that and a bag of chips.

*cowers in anticipation of all the negative rep incoming from Weird Al fanatics*

It's possible. I've never listened to it, just read the lyrics, and decided if I had to hear someone say that those things were ironic, my head would explode.

I'm kinda hot and cold with Cage movies, but Lord of War was outstanding....

did someone say Rambo 4 is coming out? Geezus Stallone... just give it up. As Dennis Miller once said, this guy has about as much range as a daisy air rifle. Let me guess, he gets Osama?

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Rocky 6, and Rambo 4. The new buy-one get-one combo at Best Buy. What makes it funny, is that since Stallone's career died after Rocky IV, they're just using a corpse.

Through the fire and the flames we'll carry on.
