Iowa City, Ia. -- Marquette basketball coach Tom Crean was seen getting off a University of Iowa airplane at the airport in Milwaukee on Monday -- fueling speculation that he has accepted an offer to coach the Hawkeyes. The University of Iowa said it will name its new basketball coach at a Monday afternoon news conference, but officials have been mum on who might replace the recently departed Steve Alford. Officials at Iowa and Marquette have declined to comment on whether Crean had been offered the job.
Crean, who has been mentioned for several other coaching jobs across the country, was seen getting off the private plane along with several of his assistant coaches. Crean has taken the Golden Eagles to six NCAA tournaments in the last 13 years, including twice in the last three years. They have had nine consecutive 20-win seasons
Where'd you get this article? Jon Miller just got this exact article emailed to him on the show and is now trying to validate it while the show is on a commercial break. Hilarious if this is a joke and someone copy and pasted a remake in to his show. Rep points for that person if he comes clean guaranteed
Sorry guys, No negative rep points forgetting what conference MU is in....But in a way you can see my point. Marquette is one of the schools that get lost in the shuffle and nobody knows about.
Marquette in the Big East is like Creighton in the PAC-10. That must suck for road games. It just seems unnatural and there is no East about MU.

Not buying into this one at this point. No links to a source for this story? Seems a bit odd. Also, I wasn't aware that assistant coaches traveled with the head coach to interview for a different job. Maybe that is something that happens and is just never mentioned, but that seems a little off to me. I'll be interested to see if Jon Miller or anybody else can confirm this.
i'm gonna go out on a limb (okay not too much of a stretch i don't think) and call this article fake - no link to the story (and nothing on google or on the AP website mentioning this story) + too similar in template to the Altman-Arkansas story + no iowa press conference scheduled + proximity to April Fools' Day = fake story
Ok, ok, sorry guys. This is a late April Fools. But the fact that Miller read it on the air is awsome....
Are you saying you were behind this?????
If so, YOU ARE THE MAN. The way you had Jon Miller and Pukeye nation out there peeing on everything in site suffering from gleefull anticipation was AWESOME. Your rep points will exceed ISUFan22's in short order my friend.
If you are confirming that somebody did this for a joke. Forget about what I said and pass along to whoever my appreciation.
