You'll notice on today's show that Jon will mention nothing about the NCAA's letters to UI cautioning them about their affliation with gambling interests. That's because Jon's a UI shill.
Actually, its because I have already ripped into them a bit months ago when this story actually broke, saying that I didn't understand why Iowa ($200,000 recipient) or any of the state's schools (ISU has received $100,000 from them) take money from the Iowa lottery. I had on a representative from the Lottery as well and asked her about it. I said that I felt disgusted that they parodied the Iowa fight song for the diamond mine game.
Jon, I get irritated with the Hawkeye stuff on your show as much as the next guy, but I have to give you credit for the time you spend covering Cyclone issues. I also have to give you respect for coming onto our boards and politely replying to some of the stuff that is said.
Not to kiss Jon's azz, but I think he does a good job covering ISU topics. Think about it, if you (as a die hard cyclone) were given a radio show, that you had to cover both big schools in the state and the 2 smaller school. You would not completely give up your passion for the cyclone, just to appease the fans of the other school. And still do a decent interview with opposing school coaches and fans. Just my $.02
