So I have a few questions for discussion.
What's going to happen when all the characters graduate from high school? Could they continue the show at TMU?
Does anyone know if this show will be renewed for next year?

He's not going to TMU...
I think they're gonna leave that up in the air until the next season. Is Saracen a senior? I'm not sure if Smash is a senior either? I'm pretty sure they'll win State though as in the preview for next week it showed the players celebrating in the end zone.
I would be surprised if he actually goes to TMU. His wife already has made it clear she is not going to move and the previews had the whole "family is more important than football" line in it.
Who knows what will happen with the characters. Can't imagine that Riggins will go to college so he may still be hanging around town although he's no longer sleeping with the hot mom next door to make it more interesting. I about died laughing when at the roast he gets up to the mic and goes "how about Saracen sleeping with the coach's daughter" and the whole room had an awkward silence.
I think at least Saracen is not a senior and the kid in the wheelchair is now on the coaching staff so I'm sure there will be room for some new story lines and maybe some new characters if the show gets another season.
Saracen is a sophmore and Smash is a Junior so they will be back next year. Taylor will be back next year since his wife is having a kid and that's probably why he won't take the TMU job.
He is going to pull an Altman for sure!
They will bring in new characters every year if it gets renewed. I have not seen how it is doing in the ratings.
I think Smash is a senior becasue he was talking to college coaches in a previous episode.
It was a good episode last night and it will be interesting how they end the last episode of the season which I beleive is next week. They need to get back to the football stuff though...
Sarecen is a sophomore but I'm not sure about Smash. I really can't see Coach Taylor leaving Dillion as that is the whole premise of the show. Street will come on as an assistant coach. Who knows about Riggins.
I've read in Entertainment Weekly (who by the way says FNL is the best drama on TV) that the ratings have not been good but the NBC executives are so in love with the show that it will most likely be back for a 2nd season.
They could all end up going to U of California. Then Dylan could enroll there out of pure pressure the drop out. Wait that was 90210. Sorry.
You know I just realized a few week ago that the wife of coach Taylor also play the wife of coach game in the movie. The guy that plays Buddy Garrity also was in the movie as the car dealer I believe. The guy that plays coach Taylor also appeared in 4 episodes of Grey's Anatomy as the guy on the bomb squad that got blown up and also was in that movie about George Strait called "Dusty."
It's funny, if you go out on the IMDB page: http://imdb.com/title/tt0758745/ and see how old some of the actors are that play HS kids it's weird how you can get young looking actors to play roles of someone nearly 10 years younger than them. The actor that plays Jason Street is 27 years old! Smash is 24, Saracen is 25, Lyla and Riggins are 26. The only 2 that are even close to HS age are the actors that play Julie and Landry who are 18 and 19.
Whooo! State Champs!!!!
My gut is that Taylor stays but if he (the actor) wants out or the producers want him out for some reason they have things set up pretty well for him to leave since the wife and daughter could still be on the show. They're setting Street up to be a coach but no way they'd actually make him the head coach, right? I mean, they have to keep the show somewhat based in reality.
It sounded like Smash and Saracen would both be back next year.
I meant to reply on this the other night. Man what a cliffhanger! Is coach staying or leaving? They really wavered on that to make you think both are very possible and now I want the next season to get here soon so I can find out!
I think some of the characters will still be back. I can see Riggins being that guy who hangs around trying to relive his glory days instead of moving on with life. Plus I don't think it's completely over with him and the hot mom. Saracen and Smash characters are still in school so they should be back. I can't see them making Street the head coach if Taylor leaves but it is TV so you never know. They have done a great job trying to keep things realistic though.
Plenty of good story lines going on lately, I sure hope the show is renewed.
I wouldn't read much into Street giving them a pep talk. As far as they know they don't have a coach and someone had to give them a pep talk to keep them motivated. He was the leader of the team before he was paralyzed so not like he's "stepping up" anymore than he used to be.
I think the whole Voodoo conversation was just talk to make it more interesting. Smash isn't going to switch schools. Was just another way to portray Voodoo character as "evil" probably and just show why they are glad he's not on their team. NBC definately left it out there though for a lot of things. You can easily see coach Taylor staying or you could go the more dramatic route and have the whole new storyline of him at TMU, Dillion with a new coach, and all the complications that will cause with various relationships. The show really grew on me the more I watched it and now I can't wait to see what happens each week so I hope it continues. There was rumors earlier they weren't sure if the show would make it.
