Re: Williams: Craig Brackins is Coming to Town ***
Coach Mac is fine with the situation. He is earning two to three times what he was making. He knows when we start winning and when we pay off Morgan and the other Mac, he will get his $.

Now I'm no Lickliter expert, but I felt like I was watching Jim's dad on "American Pie" during his opening press conference.
Classic!

Re: Williams: Craig Brackins is Coming to Town ***
First of all, I hope Brackins is as good as "advertised". Talking about him in an article with references to Nowitzki and Larry Bird is a little much in my opinion...at least at this point! If he is that talented, why was he not named to the McDonald's team or to the Parade teams? I'm not trying to throw cold water on the kid, I just don't think we should be expecting him to be Larry Bird next year. I would be elated if he was half the player Larry Legend was!
As for McDermott's salary. What the Iowa coach makes has nothing to do with what McDermott makes...unless, of course, Iowa is trying to hire away McDermott (which they were not trying to do). Coaches have leverage to renegotiate when the produce results and other suitors desire their services and will pay more for them. The bottom line is that McDermott does not have this leverage at this point. He was (and is) not a hot candidate for any of the jobs that were (are) open. So Pollard would be throwing money away if he gave McDermott more at this point.
Quite frankly, I hope that all of the coaches at ISU have the type of success that leads them to be "hot coaching commodities" and desired by other schools...when that happens I will be happy that we are having such great success and more than happy to compensate the coach for that success so we can keep him.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
