look on any major UK board. One has over 11,000 people right now.
First Huggins, now Billy G. Looks like the Cyclones are losing competition for middle of the pack next year. Sweet.

I'm glad we don't have to monkey with finding new coaches for awhile. All this drama is too much.

Re: Gillepsie is gone to the Blue Pasture
K-State AD wants Huggins dead. I would too.

Re: Gillepsie is gone to the Blue Pasture
I'm glad Huggins is out but I hate to see Gillepsie go. Great Coach and only had to play him once a year. Poor aggies.

Re: Gillepsie is gone to the Blue Pasture
Wow. Two years of good success and Gillepsie parleys it into a job at Kentucky. You could legitimatly compare what Billy did with what Larry Eustachy did in Ames(of course we all know how that crashed and burned!). Good for Billy. Bad for the Big 12 as a whole, but potentially good for ISU.

I agree, today was a good day for Iowa State. A&M can go back to being a football school again, and K-State can go back to being in the gutter. I like ole Billy, will miss him.

Re: Gillepsie is gone to the Blue Pasture
depends on who comes in to replace huggins and gillespie, but COULD potentially be good for Iowa State.

Re: Gillepsie is gone to the Blue Pasture
Wasn't this Acie Law's final year at A&M? If it was, I don't think that the Aggies would be nearly as good without him.

Re: Gillepsie is gone to the Blue Pasture
I'm not surprised by this at all. The difference between him and Huggins is he deserved it. Huge move, I'm kinda sad though...the conference's quality will go down a little bit...I was really looking forward to having a solid, almost top-to-bottom conference comparable to the ACC.
But I can understand it...he's gettin paid up the wazoo, 23,000 basketball hungry fans, doesn't have to play his mentor (Self). Good move.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.
