College Football News.com is releasing their preseason rankings. So far they have 40-119, and Iowa State is not ranked in that category. Tomarrow they come out with the next 20, which Iowa State will be in somewhere. They should be in the 30-39 range I would guess!

That would be a good place for us. But I want to climb each week... through the first week of January.

"This should be a fun team that makes several big plays on both sides of the ball and has the makeup to annoy the heck out of top ten-caliber teams like Iowa, Texas and Oklahoma. The defense loses a ton of top starters off the secondary and the defensive line, but the run defense should once again be among the league's best led by Brent Curvey at tackle and DeAndre Jackson at corner. If you can stop the run, you can be a player in the Big 12 race. Iowa State can stop the run. Ten starters return to an offense that has the potential to be the most explosive in the Big 12 North."

Also.....They have Iowa going 11-1 and only ranked 21?? Also, kind of surprised to see Colorado that high, and in a state of shock to see Mizzou that high! I think they have Iowa State just about where they deserve to be, and we have yet to see Nebraska. Looking forward to the games they pick us to win/lose. Im sure they will have us losing to Iowa, Texas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, and Im sure the 5th loss will be against Tx Tech, Colorado, or Missouri.

Iowa will be a decent team with great record next year. They don't have a tough road. Of course either did we last year.

Wait for Iowa the following year when they lose Michigan and Ohio state off the schedule.

That is why we need to beat them.

good work doyle. i agree that this years team should b fun to watch, but im not all that sure about us being good against the run. at least not early on in the season. coach skladany really has his work cut out for him. i expect to c quite a few blitzes as he will try to keep the other team confused and hopefully we can get ol trice stadium rockin. cant wait for some football!
