I swear this guy pledged over and over he will stay 3 years.

Sweet. Tired of seeing him dominate us.

I wish Chalmers would get hit by a bus. He seems to have career games against the Cyclones.

Man, don't like to see people wish phycial injury on any athlete... that's sad. Come on guys, we're better than that.
The reason he kept saying he was coming back was because he's on track to graduate next year, only 3 years, and promised his family he'd graduate. However, you're really good if you're considered a top 5 pick in a draft many consider to be on of the best top to bottom, possibly ever! Best of luck to him, and glad we don't have to match up with him again...
PS. All of this only if he truly announces tomorrow he's leaving

Who exactly? Fizer never made such a promise, nor did Stinson or Blalock. These are the only Cyclones in recent memory that have bolted to the NBA early.
If you could provide a link where these said promises were made, I will eat my crow raw.

I didn't think somebody would be daft enough to actually think I literally want a bus to run over Cyclone-killer Mario Chalmers. Come on guys, we're better than that. :)

AMES, Iowa (AP) -- Iowa State will have a new backcourt next season after Curtis Stinson and Will Blalock announced Wednesday they are entering the NBA draft.
The junior guards both earned all-Big 12 honors after leading the Cyclones to a 16-14 season. Last month, Stinson said he would remain with the Cyclones and also speculated that Blalock would also likely stay for his senior season.

Re: Julian Wright prefers $$$$ to KU, will bolt for NBA
I've got no problem with Julian Wright declaring for the NBA. If he feels he's got nothing left to prove in college and is seeking good advice in making an informed decision, Wright should go if he is considered a lottery draft pick (the downside is that he'll most likely go to a bad team). Sometimes declaring as an underclassman is good, and sometimes bad (for some reason I keep on thinking Chris Taft from Pitt). I don't know his family's financial health, but circumstances do change over time. If I remember correctly, Johnny Orr had promised Fred Hoiberg that he would be here for his entire career. But Johnny knew for the sake of the program that it was time to step aside...

Okay, I will admittedly eat the crow for Stinson, but not Blalock. Stinson doesn't get to speak for Blalock.
Point being, Stinson did not pledge over and over throughout the season that he will be coming back, unlike JW did at KU.
Also, if you look behind the phrase KU players=bunch of liars, you will see this:
:)
Maybe, just maybe, the post was made in jest.
Mmmmmm, raw Stinson crow.........

Re: Julian Wright prefers $$$$ to KU, will bolt for NBA
Well, Stinson did say most of his career he'd play here 4 years... DMR link
I swear Blalock said the same thing, yet I can't locate a link for such and I don't feel like looking all night for one.
My point was, lets not be a bunch of homers. We had at least one player that said he'd be here until he graduates and didn't follow through with that. The second a player from a rival does so, he's labeled a liar.
I don't hate either player. If someone told me I could leave school a year or two early to make some huge money, I'd be hard pressed not to do so. I'll bet the vast majority of men and women in this country (and many others) would find it hard to continue sitting through classes as well - athlete or not.
Oh....
:)
