Rivals updated their top 100 list for the 08 football recruits!! Sam Mcguffie is on the list but it has it in alphabitcal order not rankings. He is the only top 100 player with us on his list but that isn't too much of a suprise given a new coaching staff needs some time to get caught up... hopefully soon we will see ISU on more of these types of players lists. Iowa is listed on many different players lists, probably around 8 players have iowa listed. Another thing of interest, that one OL that we let get out of state to Nebraska is in the top 100 too bad we couldn't have landed him! Also here is a link to the top players by position.. they don't have McGuffie as number one but they have him in a list with 5 rb's that you can vote on for the number one! http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com...&CID=661892#QB

That is the great question, can we get in on these kids??? If so, then the turnaround will not be a long one, and we will be bowling in places like San Antonio, San Diego, and Dallas. If not, then we will book more trips to Shreveport, to freeze our butts off. I just hope that Chizik will be as disappointed in Shreveport as we should be, and not make believe that it is an important bowl.

Being from CYpress, TX and his High-School being CY-Fair, how could he not choose the Iowa State CYclones? It is just logical!

Well we are off his list as of his most recent updates. That really sucks, he looks like he is going to go with one of the big dogs.

There are a lot of good players out there...we can win without the elites.

Just look at the Yankees... lots of talent doesn't always mean a good team!

I know we can but from a fans standpoint it would give us alittle bragging rights in the offseason

however I remember one year they had all these great players and they were supposed to win hands down, and had a fairly miserable season. The reason was everyone was trying to be the star, no one was interested in being a team player. So my point is, a bunch of ok players working great together can do bigger things than a bunch of stars out trying to make name for themselves

I was refering to one a few years ago, I dunno which season. Looking through their records I guess they did fairly well over all. However they didn't live up to their preseason hype to say the least.
Like I said, I don't give a **** about the Yankees (I grew up near Baltimore), and I don't pay much attention to baseball any more. I just remember hearing the occasional talk about the over-rated yankees and smilling a little on the inside.
My point was talent certianly is important but it's not the only factor when it comes to team sports, and having good team chemistry can produce unexpected results, where as having bad team chemistry can make your talent play at less than what they are capable of

However if the Yankees are currently last in the AL East, that makes my evening
