I think we let these two box it out for a scholarship.

Well, I'm color blind (and collar) but I'll take the big fella from Houston. I would really love to see Nweke play to be a better judge of his talent. He doesn't look Agnew big/lazy.

Gotta go with Nweke for the simple fact he has something no player on the squad has---the ability push other people around. If he only plays 10 minutes a game for his whole career, I still think it is a good pick up. Iowa State outrebounded its opponents last year for the first time in 4 years and they did it with some pretty skinny post players. Imagine a guy pushing people around going for boards. I say sign him.

How about the "bank the scholarship" option? Idk, if I absolutely had to choose I'd go with Nweke because he'd prolly get down to 270 and become more powerful and effective than Vette ever could be.

John Walters on Channel 5 just said that Vette was visiting ISU this weekend and that Iowa was also showing interest.

Vette is 6'9" 245 lbs, so he is not a push-around by any means. He has had his basketball "coming-of-age" lately and has really shown nice improvement. Vette certainly has the size and what looks like the basketball skills as well.
Nweke on the other hand, is just big. He would certainly need to lose 30 lbs at least. I'm a little concerned with his quickness, and haven't heard much about his shooting ability.

I don’t care… I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it… let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

Who is this Nweke guy and when did his name surface as a possible recruit?

Can someone recap our scholly situation again? Any chance we could sign both? There's been so much going on lately, I can't remember how many we have to use.
My bottom line is: either guy for 4 years is better than Marsden for 2 years (nothing against Marsden, but he was not going to contribute much).

I say sign him. I'm with you Argan. I've seen enough skinny post players to last me many years. Time to see some big guys in there who can throw people around. Think Joseph Jones at A&M.
