Do you remember what connection Tom Bardal has with Iowa State?

GMAC is a great post-player coach. Look what he did with Jiri this year. Jiri all he wanted to do was shoot the outside shot, but I'm sure GMAC coached him to a presence in the post. He will make Vette an outstanding post player with time

About 5 years ago, another player from the NE Iowa conference committed to Iowa. He was unrecruited until his senior year. I think Alford offered because he couldn't get anybody else. He was built about like Vette, maybe a little shorter and less than 245#. His name was Greg Brunner, remember him? Would you naysayers be satisfied if Vette turned out like Brunner?

Not to argue too much with you Geezer, but Bruner was recruited pretty hard. In fact I watched a game that he played at Chuck City, my friend was doing the color commentary, and had an "interesting" exchange with Larry Eustachy. Larry offered him as a junior.

Clem Haskins was in the town a lot as well.

Did I say I hated the kid? No. I'm just not thrilled he called our coach a derogatory name - whether it was on the internet or not.
