Even with Taylor gone (he will be fellas) and 6 freshman, I'm really excited to see what we can do next year. We should be improved by quite a bit. I'm looking for 20 wins next year. Sweeping the state.

You reading the same roster I am? Not much experience on that roster.

So is Staiger much of a ballhandler or more of a 3? I'd like to have him on the floor because of his shot, but it would seem unfair to whoever wins out at PG, Garrett/Brister, for them to be the only ballhandler. So maybe Garrett and Brister are our starting guards next year. That is if Taylor gets the boot, which he should.
I'm sorry but replacing two experienced Big 12 guards with unproven freshmen does not equal 20 wins. We'll have similar growing pains in the back court as we had the prior year.

We're replacing three Division III caliber guards here. Not too hard to do fellas. And you can't tell me that our frontcourt isn't 180% stronger for next year. I think we will be the team to beat in the state. Which could give us 3 wins right there.

Our back court next year looks like Brock Jacobsen plus 4 freshmen - and that's if all 4 freshman qualify academically. It could be Jacobsen and 2-3 freshman.
That would make 2 consecutive years with no returning scholarship guards on the team. We could easily be taking a step backwards next year if that is the case.
I'm just glad that we will finally have a team with some basketball IQ next year.
We SHOULD be the best team in the state. We get Minnesota at home, go to Bradley and Oregon State. Plus the Las Vegas Invitation. By the time we get to B12 play we should have a good feel of this teams strengths and weaknesses.
These freshman are the future of ISU Basketball.
