NBA referee Joey Crawford was suspended indefinitely

Re: NBA referee Joey Crawford was suspended indefinitely
Good, they need to investigate that. I obviously don't know Tim Duncan, but he just doesn't seem like a guy who would say somethign so bad to where he would deserve to get kicked out like he did.
Mods-don't edit my own posts...

Wow....very interesting. I was expecting him to get admonished in a public statement by Stern, but never expected him to get knocked off for the rest of the season. But can you imagine if he had gotten assigned to a Spurs playoff game? Wouldn't have been good.

Hey, you can't kick out Joey. He is Macho Ref. The mafia will get Stern. for this. Don't be hating on the ref like that! You wanna go?!

It could've been accident. In moderator land, the quote and edit buttons are right next to each other. I've meant to click quote and accidentally clicked edit a number of times. Fortunately I've caught it before accidentally editing someone's post. Or at least, if I did do it - no one noticed it.
Perhaps that edit button needs to be moved...

Re: NBA referee Joey Crawford was suspended indefinitely
David Stern is on PTI right now. He said Crawford's been warned about things like these before. He told Crawford that he'd be done for the rest of the year, and Crawford gave the impression that he wouldn't come back at all.
It's ironic that at the beginning of the year, Stern told refs to be stern on T'ing up players for complaining. Now a ref's being run off for it.
Oh well, good thing I don't give a crap about the NBA -
Re: NBA referee Joey Crawford was suspended indefinitely
Anyone think the suspension would have happened if the player involved was Rasheed Wallace, Ron Artest, or some no name player rather than Tim Duncan? I don't.

Stern got this suspension rite. Crawford made a terrible call just because he had some beaf with duncan. He deserves every bit of that suspension.

Re: NBA referee Joey Crawford was suspended indefinitely
Crawford has been known to play "favorites" and "unfavorites".
It is nice to see a league take action against an official who messed up rather than try to cover for them or fine people for talking about their screw ups.
Positive rep to the NBA on this one.

Re: NBA referee Joey Crawford was suspended indefinitely
How many on here saw the incident in its context??? I will preface this by saying that I am a diehard Spurs fan, but Crawford was waaaaayyyy out of line.
I know that Tim has been known to whine about calls, but he was called for a week offensive foul that sent him to the bench. He was sitting in the middle of the Spurs bench when he got the T's. The first one, he said something, I am sure, and Crawford T'd him up. You know when you single a player at the middle of the bench out, you are looking for him. Then he got the second T for laughing, the replays showed that was all that he did.
Joey Crawford, no relation, has a rep of trying to overshadow the players. He refs with a chip on his shoulder, and impacts the game. He got what he has been due of him for a long time.
