MU Parking Ramp

Okay, I know this thread is a little out of the ordinary, but I just had to ask.

So, I have gotten a bit lazy the past couple of weeks, and haven't wanted to park my car at the stadium. So, I've been parking at the MU ramp. Why? Because I found a system. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I just wanna know if any of you have done this.

I have noticed that after 11:00 on most nights, the booth is closed. This just so happens to be about the same time that I like to go out and do stuff. So, since the booth is closed, I just drop my ticket in the after-hours box, and park there for free. Or, if I know I have to leave during the day, I just swoop my car around at night, grab a new ticket, and only pay $7.00.

Anybody else do this?

I never did this intentionally, but I did see that sometimes there is no one manning the booth after a certain time so I didn't have to pay. I am surprised no one has tried to milk the system this way earlier. It does seem to work.

Well, at least one person is milking it. I didn't really plan to continue, but after this winter when it took them a week or two to plow the lots, and after the extremely long time it took them to get cars unstuck and so on, I decided that I'll just make the money back I payed for a parking ticket. Especially when the lots are supposed to be plowed, well kept, and accessable as soon as possible. Didn't happen.

Oh well. I just thought this was interesting.

I think they do cost analysis on this issue. They realized its not worth the money they'd make to pay someone wages for those hours.

just hope there aren't any cameras. :)

theyve also cut back on their employees since theyre switching to the automated system.. once they switch over, no free exit after midnight..

I used to do it all the time last year.
