Jeffrey Jordan
Jeff Jordan is considering a walk on position at a high major school. So, why dont we go after him. With all of the guards we are losing, it wouldnt hurt to get one of the top defenders in the state of Illinois to come to Iowa State. Not to mention having MJ in the crowd at Hilton wouldnt hur either. I know it is not likely but it is something to consider.

Re: Jeffrey Jordan
Not sure he is worth a scholarship. From everything I've heard including an opinion from someone that has seen him play live in a game is that he's just average and at least right now is nothing more than just a bench player that will give you a few minutes a game.
It would be cool to have MJ in the house though...

Re: Jeffrey Jordan
I say unless he actually will play and contribute, lets pass. While it would be cool the see MJ in a crowd once or twice a year, this team needs players that can contribute.

Re: Jeffrey Jordan
Sorry, I didnt mean to say give him a scholarship, I meant have him walk on.

From everything I've read about him, I think he seems to have a lot of character. It would be easy to go to a big name school, or want to be a star somewhere (with the huge shoes to fill) but he just sounds like he's got the work ethic and wants to do it himself. I could see him becoming the type of cyclone I really love. The quiet contributor, who works himself from walkon (or bench warmer) to star. Maybe never scores a lot of points, but always hustles and never quits.

Re: Jeffrey Jordan
If he wanted to walk on I'd be all about it, especially since we're going to be really short on guards next season.
I saw his game against Eric Gordon's team this season and he was an absolute non factor in it, so I don't think I'd feel the same way if there was a scholarship involved.

Re: Jeffrey Jordan
I don't know if all of THAT kind of publicity is needed. Not that it's bad, it just takes away from the team.

Re: Jeffrey Jordan
I think the only media would go crazy about this would be local. I really haven't heard a thing about Jordan, other than this site. Nothing about "MJ in Stands to watch son sit on bench of high school basketball game". I think the only way he becomes a media darling is if he starts making an impact. You really didn't hear about Luke Walton or Patrick Ewing Jr until they started contributing.
Maybe I'm naive.

Re: Jeffrey Jordan
I don't think we should take players based on their celebrity status.

Re: Jeffrey Jordan
I know Boozer is a 2 star commit, but do you think McDermott is taking a chance at hoping the apple didn't fall too far? Or do you think Boozer is legit, and will be a good guard for us soon?
These could be similar stories.

Re: Jeffrey Jordan
We don't need J. Jordan..I have seen him play a couple times, and to me is not that impressive...I think we got a good roster for next year
