Perfect night at the ballpark
I went out to the K tonight to see the Royals crush the Twins and ended up having a great evening. The weather was perfect the entire game, the crowd was great (nearly 32K...I can only imagine what this city would do if they had a decent team to cheer for), the Royals finally strung together some hits, turned a few double plays, and came away with a comfortable win (as a Royals fan I can say that even with a 5 run lead in the 9th the crowd was waiting for the other shoe to drop).
I should also point out that the Twins looked very un-Twins-like. I don't think they had any errors but they bobbled a few balls in the field and threw some wild pitches.
Saw some Cyclone gear in the parking lot and quite a few Iowa tags. The Twins always bring a good crowd but they weren't as noticable tonight as there were a lot more Royals fans than at the game I went to last year between the two teams.
Not much of a point to this post other than it reminded me to appreciate the smaller things in life like an evening like this.
Edit: OH! And because the Royals had at least 13 hits I get a dozen free bagels from Panera! Ka-ching!

As a Royals fan, I've found myself pulling for the Braves, too. Atlanta fans should all be grateful to Kansas City for letting John Schuerholz leave and turn the Braves into a perennial power. All those pennants should be flying in Kauffman Stadium. :wink0st:

luckily for you, k.c. got the next best thing to j.s. maybe even better if schuerholz retires after 08 w/ bobby cox.:sad9cd: dayton already made an awsome move knowing atl was out of options for tony pena jr. what a steal that was!
Re: Perfect night at the ballpark
It was a great night out last night. I don't know much about MLB, but I'm big into the AAA PCL (I-Cubs, awesome), so I'll be hitting Sec Taylor Stadium quite often this year.
Re: Perfect night at the ballpark
It's just too bad my boy Shealy hasn't worked out better for KC as of yet. They had some hard luck drafts going with the flashy picks for a few years. I think they might have things headed in the right direction now.
Re: Perfect night at the ballpark
I thought Shealy finished the year playing really well last season but he's had a really rough start this year. But that doesn't exactly set him apart from most of the team so far.

Couple years ago I was down there at a game, and it was 12 hits to get a dozen krispy kreme's. Must be going the healthier route now.
Re: Perfect night at the ballpark
Yeah, Krispy Kreme ended it after last year and Panera stepped to the plate because it was so popular among the fans.
