ISU Daily Police Blotter
I don't know if anyone has seen the ISU Daily yet today, but the police blotter takes up almost a full page! I found that funny - Also, I was disappointed by the lack of pictures from the parade.
Anyone have any good stories from VEISHEA? Favorite float (mine was the Cars float by Delta Tau Delta)?

As long as the answer is NO, I'd say it was a successful VEISHEA weekend!!!
Actually, the Ames PD said that "Things went pretty smoothly". DesMoinesRegister.com Some people wear Superman pajamas. Superman wears Chuck Norris pajamas. -

haha, yeah I laughed when i first saw the blotter. Looks like they had to kill a couple extra trees to fit all those in.
Overall I had a great time at VEISHEA this year. I really enjoyed the saliva concert on friday night.

This was only my second VEISHEA but this year was 10 times better than last year. Just a great weekend.

I just took the hand cuffs off Mike Taylor. I had him hand cuffed to my 3 year old daughter and would not let them go out of the house after the streets lights came on during Veisha.

Did they start early, or did they not get the memo that they were on the schedule to perform until 3 AM? I missed the first song (assuming they started at 1) because I was at the comedy show at Stephens.

Re: ISU Daily Police Blotter
I don't think a page long police blotter sounds all that long after a VEISHEA. When I was in school it was at least that long.
I was up in Ames Sat afternoon and night for the festiviites. I have to say that it seemed fairly calm there compared to the early 90s when I was there.

No good stories, but I did lose my digital camera friday night. if anyone has found anything/heard of someone finding one that would be stellar.

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -

I wish I had the time and money to get both Jaegermeister and Lazerfest tickets... but sadly, I don't. So, it's only Jaeger for me.

Re: ISU Daily Police Blotter
First off, keep in mind that the Daily Police Blotter only covers ISU PD's records, and has nothing to do with Ames PD. However, being as VEISHEA is now primarily on campus, as opposed to many past years when much of it was not, it should be expected that the ISU PD will deal with more incidences than in years prior to 2005.
That being said, I'd say that at a University as large as ours (18,800 undergrad, plus 4,400 grad students), I'd say that seeing 40 to 50 incidences over the largest party weekend of the year is not statistically that bad. A lot of the incidences in the blotter were also reports of found wallets, purses, etc. that made the blotter longer as well. I'd say VEISHEA was once again successful, and it seems like any incidences that did occur were minor ones anyway.

And thank you Stumpy for this: -
