Football Student Section
Thinking of ideas for a name today.
FWIW I don't think the student section needs a name, but if there was one?
The only thing I could come up with-
THE GENE POOL

So anyways...
I love the idea of developing a name. We've got Cyclone Alley in basketball. Those students take great pride and ownership over that.
While I don't want the football student section to get broken up into "levels" like basketball, it would be nice to develop some sort of name and identity.

I doubt you would want to name it something that refers to Gene. He won't be here forever so you'd have to rename it again if we got a new coach.

agreed about naming it after Chizik. I like the creativity, but like an earlier poster said, he won't be there forever even if he is successful. Mich St.'s student section at the breslin center is the "Izzone," but will it stay after he leaves?

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. That's not all bad, though. Some schools do stuff like that. Northern Iowa's MBB section, for example- whenever they get a new coach, they rename the section. Right now, it's "Jake's Jungle". I'm not saying we should necessarily do that, just that it's not unheard of or a horrible idea. It works for some places, just not Iowa State.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.
